Britain’s Prince Harry is in danger of becoming ‘an embarrassment to his country’ top royal photographer Arthur Edwards warned yesterday (04.04.07). Arthur - a veteran in his trade and one of the royal family’s favourites - made the comment in response to pictures of the 22-year-old prince falling over outside a London nightclub in an alleged drunken spat with the paparazzi. Arthur told BBC News 24: ‘I like Prince Harry. I think he’s just a fabulous young man, but he is an Army officer now and that behaviour last week, when he staggers out, falling over out of nightclubs, trying to attack a photographer.. If he’d have hit that photographer, we could have been all outside court seeing him face a charge of assault.’ Arthur - who works for British newspaper The Sun - said Harry is ‘not a boy any more’, and should remember that certain standards are expected of him now that he is a commissioned officer with the Household Cavalry’s Blues and Royals. He added: ‘Harry should be behaving a lot better and he knows if he goes to these nightclubs paparazzi hang around. It’s par for the course. Like outside Paris hotels there are paparazzi. Princess Diana knew that.’ The comments come just days after royal protection officers called a meeting to discuss the safety of Harry and his older brother Prince William in light of their recent public partying.
