LAVIGNE DENIES ‘WEAK’ SPEARS ATTACK
LATEST: AVRIL LAVIGNE has furiously denied blaming pop rival BRITNEY SPEARS’ recent breakdown on a weak character.
The SK8ER BOI star was quoted in British newspaper The Sun dismissing Spears’ headline-grabbing spells in rehab and her bizarre hair-shaving episode earlier this year (07) as examples of celebrities who can’t control their fame.
She allegedly said, "What’s happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person. If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it. You can’t complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that’s the job." However, Lavigne insists the story was fabricated, telling website TMZ.com, "I haven’t even been talking about her. People ask me about it all the time and I go, ‘You know what? I don’t know her.’"
