HOPKINS CAN’T PLAY NORTH COUNTRY ENGLISH
SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS might be considered a great actor, but he can’t manage all accents.
The movie star has played US President RICHARD NIXON, soft-spoken cannibal DR HANNIBAL LECTER, BRAD PITT’s father and an Antipodean biker on the big screen, but he’s just turned down one film role because he felt he couldn’t play an Englishman.
He says, "I just turned down a part in an English film because they wanted a north country accent and I have a Welsh accent.
"Film doesn’t lie, it tells the truth so any adjustments you make to your personality have to be very minimal. I just couldn’t do it."
