GENEROUS GEORGE PAYS $20 FOR A CUP OF LEMONADE
GEORGE CLOONEY thrilled a group of charity-minded kids in North Carolina yesterday (04APR07) when he splashed out $20 (£10.25) on a glass of lemonade.
Generous George stopped by the lemonade stand in Tobaccoville during a break in filming his new period sports movie LEATHERHEADS with RENEE ZELLWEGER and gave brothers CARTER, CHANDLER and CHASE FONTAINE a cash boost as they attempted to raise money on their spring break holiday.
The kids were selling cups of lemonade for 25 cents, but Clooney offered them $20 for refreshment. He then thrilled the boys’ mother when he agreed to pose for pictures with her.
And the Fontaine brothers continue to cash in on their brush with a celebrity - minutes after Clooney drove off, the enterprising boys erected a sign that read, "George Clooney was here!" next to their lemonade stand.
