Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:53 pm

JAMES WOODS was so fed up with the hectic work schedule on the set of SHARK, he insisted on bringing his own director to dramatically cut the filming hours.
Filming was so chaotic that actors were often required to work up to 80 hours a week, something which spurred Woods to finally speak out and demand someone who could get the job done in half the time.
Woods claims heated arguments with the bosses resulted in him threatening to quit the show, saying, "I said, ‘You apologise and make this right or I’m going to go home and the show is over.’ "I just have zero patience for people complaining about anything other than life and death issues."

McAVOY SURPRISED AT SENIOR STATUS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:50 pm

Fresh-faced Scottish actor JAMES McAVOY was left surprised on the set of new movie STARTER FOR TEN, because he was a senior cast member for the first time.
The 28-year-old’s character BRIAN is torn between two women in the film, played by newcomers ALICE EVE and REBECCA HALL, aged 25 and 24 respectively.
And for McAvoy, more used to supporting veteran actors such as FOREST WHITAKER in THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, this proved a strange turnaround.
He says, "It did (seem a bit strange). I’ve been doing this for seven years now so I’m not the new kid on the block any more. It’s odd, really strange.
"Working with Alice and Rebecca, being so bright and shiny and new and brilliant, I did feel like the old man of the set."

WOODS HITS OUT AT AMBITIOUS STARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:47 pm

Hollywood star JAMES WOODS has hit out at fellow actors for stepping outside of their type-casted roles - insisting they should stop being something they are not.
The SHARK star believes actors should only perform what they’re known for, and be happy with the millions of dollars they earn in the process.
He says, "JIM CARREY keeps wanting to do drama. I say shut up and just do comedy, make $100 million and relax. Actors always want to be the thing they are not.
"People ask why JULIA ROBERTS is such a big star. It’s because she’s pretty and she smiles. That’s kind of a simplistic assessment, but it made her $100 million in the process."

English rockers ARCTIC MONKEYS has slammed producer MARK RONSON’s new single STOP ME, labelling the track a "f**king R&B cover version".

Despite the critical acclaim Ronson has received for his album, the I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR band aren’t fans.
Frontman ALEX TURNER says, "Let me tell you what I can’t stand - that f**king R&B cover version of Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before." Guitarist JAMIE COOK laments the current state of hip-hop and complains TIMBALAND is dominating too many current chart hits.
He laments, "Timbaland is a good producer, but he’s in every song right now.

SHAVER SHOOTING ‘UNPROVOKED’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:38 pm

LATEST: Country singer BILLY JOE SHAVER’s shooting of a man outside a Texas bar on Saturday (31MAR07) was an unprovoked act of violence, according to witnesses.
The victim BILLY B COKER, 50, and the witnesses both claim Shaver, 67, shot him in the face after verbally abusing him outside the Papa Joe’s Texas Saloon in Lorena.
A witness claims in her affidavit that she heard Shaver demanded Coker "Tell me you are sorry", and saying, "Nobody tells me to shut up." Coker says he had spoke to Shaver for an hour inside the bar where the pair discovered the musician’s wife WANDA LYNN was the widow of Coker’s cousin.
Coker alleges Shaver demanded the men step outside and said, "Where do you want it?" before shooting him in the cheek.
Earlier this week (03APR07), Shaver’s lawyer JOSEPH A. TURNER claimed his client acted in self-defence when he was approached by a "drunk and aggressive stranger holding a knife" as he left the bar.
Turner admits he is surprised to hear none of the witness accounts mention Coker’s alleged knife, saying, "Clearly the witnesses did not see the whole thing if they didn’t see the knife." Shaver has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully carrying a handgun on the premises of a business with a license to sell alcohol for on-premises consumption and released on $50,000 (£25,600) bond.
