LATEST: Police in Texas have issued an arrest warrant for country singer BILLY JOE SHAVER after he shot and wounded a man outside a bar on Saturday (31MAR07).
Shaver’s attorney JOSEPH A. TURNER claims his client acted in self defence after a drunk and aggressive stranger followed Shaver into the parking lot of Papa Joe’s Texas Saloon in Lorena, brandishing a knife.
The un-named man was shot in the cheek by Shaver, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Turner also claimed Shaver attempted to turn himself in last night (02APR07) but was not arrested because the police did not have a record of the warrants.
