American country singer BILLY JOE SHAVER is set to be quizzed by police after shooting and wounding a man outside a bar in Texas on Saturday (31MAR07).
Shaver’s attorney JOSEPH A. TURNER claims his client acted in self defence after a drunk and aggressive stranger followed Shaver into the parking lot of Papa Joe’s Texas Saloon in Lorena, brandishing a knife.
The un-named man was shot in the cheek by Shaver, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Although an arrest warrant has yet to be issued Turner insists the GEORGIA ON A FAST TRAIN star will turn himself in if one is.
He says, "We’re working with the police to get this resolved."
