Pop superstar JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE "despises" celebrity magazines who follow his personal relationships and turn them into a public soap opera.
Timberlake has had two high-profile romances, with singer BRITNEY SPEARS and actress CAMERON DIAZ, and hates the way his private life is portrayed in the media.
He tells US magazine Details, "I despise what they do. They create soap operas out of people’s lives.
"It’s a spin game, and I choose not to take part in it." And Timberlake insists he will never talk publicly about a past girlfriend.
He adds, "I would never say anything bad about anyone. I love a lot of those people."

MR BEAN’S HOLIDAY went straight to the top of the UK box office over the weekend (31MAR-01APR07), taking £4.5 million ($8.7 million) over the beginning of the Easter holidays.
The comedy, starring ROWAN ATKINSON as the clumsy loner, knocked last week’s (24-25MAR07) number one, war epic 300 down to number two.

Indian director JAGMOHAN MUNDHRA is making a movie based on the 2005 London terrorist bombings.
Mundhra has cast EAST IS EAST star OM PURI and THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN actor NASEERUDDIN SHAH in the movie SHOOT ON SITE, which he insists is mostly fictional, despite the film’s inspiration.
The director is turning his attention to the 22 July 2005 shooting of Brazilian electrician JEAN CHARLES DE MENEZES, who was killed by police as he boarded a London Underground train at Stockwell, south London. Police mistook De Menezes for a suspected terrorist, but it quickly emerged he was an innocent man in a case of mistaken identity.
In Mundhra’s film, he will swap De Menezes’ character for a Muslim boy and show the UK authorities’ reaction to their mistake.

Veteran actor SIR IAN McKELLEN likes being famous - because it’s a convenient ice-breaker at parties.
The LORD OF THE RINGS star used to dread having to make small talk at social gatherings.
He says, "You know, what I like most about being famous is that after a lifetime of going into a room and almost sweating and wondering how long I can stand it and not enjoying parties - now if I go into a room with strangers, actually I’m not a stranger anymore.
"It’s a point of reference which means you don’t have to talk about the weather and you can very quickly get off talking about yourself. It breaks the ice."

Indian movie beauty PREITY ZINTA has hit back at claims she ruined the marriage of ELIZABETH director SHEKHAR KAPUR and SUCHITRA KRISHNAMURTHY, insisting she has nothing to do with their relationship problems.
Singer/actress Krishnamurthy accused Zinta of causing the breakdown of her 10 year marriage to the 61-year-old moviemaker, which ended in divorce last month (FEB07).
After being badmouthed by Krishnamurthy to the Indian press, Zinta has hit back and is appealing to Kapur to publicly denounce rumours of an affair between them.
Zinta says, "I don’t know how I get involved in controversies. Where do I come into this? I’ve met Shekhar maybe five times in 10 years. He was supposed to make my launch film. But it never happened. But we’ve kept in touch and we’ve met up when he was in India.
"In fact, I was supposed to have been directed by Shekhar for producer VISHAL BHARADWAJ in a film called MANTRA. That was the last I met him."

Indian stars HRITHIK ROSHAN and KAJOL were the big winners at the Zee Cine Awards in Malaysia on Sunday (01APR07), taking home the coveted Best Actor and Best Actress trophies.

Film veteran MARTIN SHEEN received a police citation on Sunday (01APR07) after taking part in an anti-nuclear protest in Nevada.
The APOCALYPSE NOW actor, 66, and 38 other protestors were stopped for trespassing by police at a test site in the US state.
Test site spokesman DARWIN MORGAN said 39 protestors were released after they crossed into the site following an anti-nuclear weapons rally.
Organiser MING LAI says, "We are asking for nuclear disarmament and peace. We are asking for the Nevada Test Site to stop doing the testing they’re doing.
The only reason they’re doing it is to make bombs." Sheen has received similar citations at the site in past years.

Six months after the closure of legendary New York music club CBGB, another Manhattan gig venue is shutting for good.
Tonic, located on Norfolk Street in the Lower East Side, will close on 13 April (07), despite protests by SEAN LENNON and YOKO ONO to keep the venue open.
A statement on the club’s website says: "After more than nine years as a home for avant-garde, creative, and experimental music, Tonic will reluctantly close its doors on Friday, April 13th, 2007.
"We simply can no longer afford the rent and all of the other costs associated with doing business on the Lower East Side.
"The neighbourhood around us has been increasingly consumed by ‘luxury condominiums’, boutique hotels and glass towers, all making the value of our salvaged space worth more then our business could ever realistically support." OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER desperately wants a solo slot at this year’s (07) iconic Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.
The LIVE FOREVER star has made a direct appeal to Glastonbury organiser MICHAEL EAVIS.
The 39-year-old says, "Glastonbury Acoustic Tent sounds nice! That would be good." But Gallagher fears that, if his request is successful, he might find himself playing at the same time as a band he wants to see.
He adds, "He’d probably put me on at the same time as the ARCTIC MONKEYS."

RAZORLIGHT frontman JOHNNY BORRELL was shocked when the UK band was forced to cancel a Russian gig due to extortion last year (06), because he half expected things to turn violent.
The AMERICA group had to abandon their Moscow concert in November at the last minute after receiving threatening phone calls.
Borrell says, "It was pure, unregulated capitalism. The law of the gun, mobs and bags of money.
"Just hours before we were due on stage these guys demanded money for ’special permits’.
"There’s a promoter out there locked in the trunk of a car somewhere. People were calling my hotel room. It was very dark."

A Stradivari violin yesterday (02APR07) fetched $2.73 million (£1.4 million) at Christie’s auction house in New York - about twice what it was expected to sell for.
An anonymous bidder bagged the instrument, made in 1729 and described as "a bargain" by the buyer’s agent RIC HEINL.
Last year (MAY06), another violin made by ANTONIO STRADIVARI set the world record auction price for a musical instrument, when sold for $3.54 million (£1.82 million).

Rock matriarch SHARON OSBOURNE is a chronic claustrophobe after being repeatedly locked in a dark coal cupboard during her childhood.
The wife of OZZY OSBOURNE was unable to turn on a light inside the cupboard and now refuses to travel on underground trains.
Speaking while being analysed by BILLY CONNOLLY’s psychiatrist wife DR PAMELA STEPHENSON on last night’s (02APR07) UK TV show SHRINK RAP, she said, "I hate confined spaces, I panic.
"I could never go on the underground. They make me panic, packed trains or anything like that.
"There was a cupboard which we kept the coal in. It was in the basement. I used to get locked in the cupboard. I was about six or eight. The light was on the outside, and when the door was closed you couldn’t turn on the light.
"My brother used to say he could hear rats in there. I never did, but my heart would be beating and the veins on my neck would be pulsating."

A piano once owned by late BEATLE JOHN LENNON is to promote peace by touring sites where violent acts have taken place.
Last November (06), the upright instrument on which Lennon wrote his classic song IMAGINE was placed at the spot where US President JOHN F. KENNEDY was assassinated in 1963 in Dallas, Texas.
The piano, which is now owned by GEORGE MICHAEL, will make an appearance in Memphis, Tennessee tomorrow (04APR07) to mark the 39th anniversary of the 1968 assassination of MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
Organisers plan to make a tour documentary and a photo album to raise funds for charity.
Michael says, "The selection of the site evokes a deep sense of emotion for everyone. Capturing the image of this special piano on which a song of peace was composed is part of the heartbeat of this project."

The actor, who plays London explosives expert Basher Tarr in the heist thriller series, accepts he will be mocked again when the third instalment is released this summer.
Don told Britain’s The Observer magazine: "This summer, I obviously have to go out and upset all my British friends by repeating what they tell me is a truly terrible London accent in ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’.
"You know I really worked on that accent. I went to London and I spoke to people. I thought I got to know it, but it turns out I couldn’t get it. "I wanted to change it, but my agent said no. So I’m stuck with this thing and everyone laughs at me." The 42-year-old star loved reprising his role as Basher Tarr because he got to hang out with friends George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, who he co-starred with in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ and ‘Ocean’s Twelve’.
Don revealed: "I had so much fun doing that movie. It’s embarrassing to get paid to do it."

The former Spice Girl gave birth to her second daughter in California at 12.11am today (03.04.07).
Mel was taken to Santa Monica’s St. John’s Hospital at 5.30pm yesterday (02.04.07) after her waters broke. Her spokeswoman said: ‘The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair.
‘No name has been decided on as yet, and she is purely known as Baby Brown.’ Mel insists actor Eddie Murphy, who she dated for several months last year, is the father. However, Eddie refuses to accept responsibility until a paternity test is carried out.
The ‘Dr Dolittle’ star told a Dutch TV show in December: ‘I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test.’ Mel, 31, has a seven-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her previous marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar.
If Eddie is the father, this will be his eighth child.

Duran Duran’s John Taylor was burgled on Monday night (02.04.07), it has been reported. According to police reports, the legendary group’s bass guitarist’s Los Angeles home was broken into and ransacked with several items noted as missing – including John’s personal safe. Police told gossip website TMZ: "At this point, the fingerprints and photos are being taken of the scene and it is an ongoing investigation." John is currently in England with his family. His housekeeping staff in Los Angeles were first to notice the break-in and alerted police. The Los Angeles Police Department and Hillside Burglary Task Force – which was created following a string of reported burglaries in the west end of the Hollywood Hills last year - both responded to the call. John is married to Gela Nash, co-owner of popular fashion line Juicy Couture. He was previously married to actress Amanda De Cadenet, and the couple have a daughter, Atlanta. The 47-year-old rocker was a founder member of Duran Duran, which was one of the biggest bands of the 80s. John also co-founded a record label B5 Records in California and has worked as a solo artist.

According to reports, Timberlake ended his four-year romance with the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress because she was putting too much pressure on him to settle down.
The singer is also said to still feel bitter towards former sweetheart Spears, who allegedly cheated on him.
He once admitted he never knew the ‘real’ Spears and would love to lift the lid on ‘every little dirty thing’ about the troubled ‘Toxic’ singer.
Since splitting from Diaz, Timberlake has been romantically linked to Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson.
