PALESTINE LOBBIES TO ENTER EUROVISION
Palestine has launched a campaign to enter next year’s (08) Eurovision Song Contest - despite not being a Europe country.
The competition, which showcases songs from various European nations, already allows Israel, another country not in the continent, to perform.
To qualify, the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation must now join the European Broadcasting Union. An application has been made.
Officials at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest recently allowed the entry of Israeli band TEAPACKS’ PUSH THE BUTTON, despite fears the track would insult Iran with its references to nuclear war.
