Mandy Moore and ‘Spider-Man’ star Tobey Maguire were among the others celebrities who also got covered in slime.
Despite his victory, Justin was defeated in another of the event’s traditions – losing his title of best burper. The defending belcher champion was challenged to a live burp-off with the 12,000- strong audience, and lost. Justin said: "Tonight I went head-to-head with every kid in the audience and I don’t know if I stood a chance. They came in strong and I gave it a go but it just wasn’t good enough." ‘Charlotte’s Web’ actress Dakota Fanning, 13, was named Favourite Female Movie Star, while Beyoncé Knowles took Favourite Female Singer. Gwen Stefani and Maroon 5 were among those who performed at the event. The winners were voted for by a record 40 million American children.
