British actor Rupert Everett says he based his snooty headmistress character in the new ‘St. Trinian’s’ movie on Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
The 47-year-old star - who plays Camilla Fritton in a remake of the 1950s slapstick films about a school for young ladies - revealed he was inspired by the duchess’ wardrobe.
Everett is quoted in Britain’s Daily Express as saying: ‘I really enjoy dressing up like this, I call it my Parker Bowles look.’ Camilla - who was known as Camilla Parker Bowles before she married Britain’s Prince Charles - recently fell out of the world’s best dressed women list compiled by Britain’s Tatler magazine.
The duchess had claimed a top 10 spot the year before for her transformation from ‘frump’ to ’stunning, new royal fashion icon’.
Everett also stars as the head’s brother Carnaby in ‘St. Trinian’s’, which is expected to be released next year.
Stephen Fry, Emily Watson, Russell Brand and Colin Firth will also appear in the movie about a group of ungovernable pupils saving the school from bankruptcy.
