BIRKHEAD’S FORMER LAWYER HITS HIM WITH HER BILL
ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s ex-boyfriend has been slapped with a $620,000 (£413,300) bill for the services of the lawyer he fired last month (MAR07).
DEBRA OPRI has been the photographer’s constant companion during recent paternity and DNA legal struggles, but the pair parted company two weeks ago.
And now Birkhead has been left with a hefty bill, which includes payments for Opri’s personal publicist, her flights to and from the Bahamas, where tragic Smith spent much of last year and was buried, and even a lavish seafood dinner she reportedly bought for her former client.
According to TMZ.com, who have obtained a breakdown of Opri’s costs, the lawyer is also billing Birkhead over $4,000 (£2,000) for her cellphone service while she was in the Bahamas, and even laundry items for her husband, who often accompanied the lawyer on her trips to the Caribbean.
Opri has reportedly offered Birkhead a $100,000 (£51,300) discount if he agrees to pay the bill promptly.
Opri’s lawyer DAVID OWEN says, "We’re pretty confident that her bills are fair and reasonable… She is entitled to be paid."
