Old mortgage

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:40 pm

A 102-year-old UK man has been given a 25-year mortgage.
The man, from East Sussex, faces repayments of £958 a month.
He will have to live until 127 to pay back the £200,000 mortgage - which would make him five years older than the oldest living person who died at 122.
Most lenders offer mortgages to people under 75, but others don’t have an age limit.
Jonathan Moore, from Mortgages for Business who arranged the loan, said: "It’s a new phenomenon. Five years ago, anybody over 65 would have been hard-pushed to get any mortgage. But lenders have eased restrictions to keep in step with the market."
