Japan’s young Prince Hisahito enjoyed a visit to the royal farm yesterday (29.03.07).
The six-month-old royal arrived at his family’s Takanezawa farm, north of Tokyo, with his mother Princess Kiko and older sisters Princesses Mako and Kako.
According to Hello! website, Hisahito was on his best behaviour as he was given his first tour of the royal residence. The farm produces all the food for the Imperial family.
Empress Michiko and Emperor Akihito have joined their daughter-in-law and grandchildren for the rural break on the farm.
The empress and emperor have just finished hosting a state visit for Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
Hisahito is the first male heir to be born to the Chrysanthemum throne in forty years. His birth was widely celebrated, as it headed off a succession crisis. Under current law only males are allowed to be crowned monarchs.
Hisahito is third in line to the throne after his uncle Crown Prince Naruhito and his father Prince Akishino.
