Dog saves choking woman
A US woman who almost choked to death was saved when her pet dog jumped on her chest.
Debbie Parkhurst’s attempts to dislodge a piece of apple failed, but two-year-old golden retriever Toby leapt into action, jumping up and down on his owner’s chest last Friday (23.03.07).
Debbie, 45, of Calvert, Maryland, said: "The next thing I know, Toby’s up on his hind feet and he’s got his front paws on my shoulders. He pushed me to the ground, and once I was on my back, he began jumping up and down on my chest.
"I literally have pawprint-shaped bruises on my chest. The doctor said I probably wouldn’t be here without Toby."
