DANIEL CRAIG’s starring role in the latest 007 movie, CASINO ROYALE has broken the British record for first week DVD sales, after selling over 1.5 million copies of the hit JAMES BOND film.
Casino Royale was released on DVD across the UK last Monday (19MAR07), and sales of the new high definition Blu-ray format has also been flying off the shelves with 9,456 discs sold in its first week.
ANDY ARMSTRONG, head of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, says, "We are delighted. Bond has been invigorated with Daniel as the new 007." Craig was also voted Best Actor for his stint as James Bond at the 2007 Empire Film Awards in London on Tuesday (27MAR07).
