WEILAND’S WIFE ARRESTED FOR ARSON
VELVET REVOLVER star SCOTT WEILAND’s wife has been arrested on arson charges after setting fire to the rocker’s clothes following a hotel fight.
Model MARY WEILAND was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after police officers responded to a call on Saturday (24MAR07) night.
The calls came from neighbours who reportedly spotted Mary burning her husband’s clothing outside the couple’s home in Toluca Lake, California.
The authorities discovered the rocker’s clothes smoldering in a trash can.
The arrest came hours after the Weilands were spotted fighting at a nearby hotel.
After the weekend’s events, the couple’s two young children were placed in the custody of family friends.
As WENN previously reported, the management at the Graciela Hotel in Burbank, California plan to press charges against the Weilands after their suite was trashed following a Saturday fight.
A police spokesman says, "She is a suspect in the vandalism. He is not." The hotel owners must now decide if they want Mary Weiland prosecuted for felony vandalism.
