CLOONEY AND GELDOF DISGUSTED BY EU CELEBRATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:56 pm

Hollywood actor GEORGE CLOONEY and Live 8 organiser BOB GELDOF have lambasted European politicians for celebrating the European Union’s 50th anniversary while a genocide continues to occur in Sudan.
Both stars, who are widely known to campaign for global justice, lashed out at leaders who partied at a gala in Berlin over the weekend (24-25MAR07) while millions continue to suffer in Darfur.
In a letter to EU president, ANGELA MERKEL, Clooney said, "The time has come for decisive action to be taken.
"This genocide is happening on our watch. What we do to stop it will be our legacy." Geldof also added to the criticism, "I think there is very little to celebrate if we don’t deal with this thing.
"There are more police and army here to protect 27 people than guarding millions in fear of brutality in Darfur."
