Slow typist jailed

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:55 pm

A US court stenographer has been jailed for typing too slowly.
Circuit Judge Charles Greene, from Fort Lauderdale, found his own stenographer Margaret Smith in contempt of court after she failed to finish a transcript needed for an appeal hearing.
Judge Greene said Smith had failed to finish the transcript after several months and had missed her final deadline last week.
Smith was released from jail after claiming she couldn’t do the work in prison because she was so worried about her three children at home.
Judge Greene allowed her out of jail, but she has been put under house arrest until she completes the work.
