French actress/producer NICOLE STEPHANE died in Paris on 14 March (07). She was 83.
The Parisian made her big screen debut in LE SILENCE DE LA MER in 1949 and after only 10 years acting, switched to producing with MOURIR A MADRID (TO DIE IN MADRID) in 1963.
She was nominated for a BAFTA for her performance as ELISABETH in LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES (THE STRANGE ONES) in 1953 and was named a Chevalier De La Legion D’honneur (Knight Of The Legion Of Honour) and Chevalier Des Arts Et Des Lettres (Knight Of The Order Of Arts And Letters) in her native France.
