Egg hatch
A British schoolgirl was shocked when two chicks hatched from a box of eggs purchased from her local supermarket.
Jessica Sansom, 10, decided to experiment by putting two organic eggs in an incubator which her family used to hatch geese and hens on their Devon farm.
A month later two yellow chicks appeared.
Jessica said: "I wanted to see what would happen and mum said it might work, so we tried it. They are the cutest ducks ever." Jessica’s mum Elizabeth bought the eggs from Waitrose for £1.95.
She said: "We ate four but Jessica wanted to save the last two to see what would happen. To everyone’s amazement it worked."
