Snoop Dogg has denied he was arrested for drug possession in Sweden on Sunday night (11.03.07).
The rapper, who was stopped by police on his way to a party in Stockholm, claims he was only questioned by police before being released without charge.
Snoop’s representative said: ‘Contrary to erroneous press reports, Snoop Dogg was not arrested in Sweden.
‘He was questioned and released with no charges filed. He is excited to continue his successful co-headlining European tour with P Diddy.’ The 35-year-old rapper was reportedly deemed to be ‘under the influence of narcotics’.
Duty sergeant Matt Brannlund said: ‘He was arrested for use of narcotics. It’s illegal in Sweden to use them, even to have it in your system. Police suspected he had taken drugs.’ Snoop allegedly underwent a series of tests and the results are due in two to three weeks. If the tests confirm there were drugs in his system, he could face a means-tested fine.
A small amount of narcotics were found in the car, but police didn’t specify which type of drug and said it was unclear if they belonged to Snoop.
