LATEST: The Vietnamese boy ANGELINA JOLIE is planning to adopt is crazy about soccer and is very shy, according to the director of the Vietnamese orphanage where he currently lives.
Jolie filed papers to adopt the three-and-a-half year old tot earlier this year (07) and officials expect the actress will be able to bring him into her family by the end of the month (MAR07).
Tam Binh Orphanage director NGUYEN VAN TRUNG said the boy was abandoned at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City when he was a baby and was taken to the orphanage, where he has lived since.
Trung says, "He is in good health. He is a little bit shy.
"The boy gets along well with other children and loves to play soccer." Jolie chose the boy when she visited the orphanage with partner BRAD PITT last November (06).

LATEST: ANGELINA JOLIE may be united with her new adopted son within weeks, a Vietnamese adoption official has confirmed.
VU DUC LONG, director of the south east Asian nation’s Ministry of Justice’s International Adoption Department, said the actress’ application had been speeded up because she had met the three-and-a-half year old on a previous visit to the country in November (06).
Duc Long says officials expect to complete Jolie’s paperwork by the end of March (07), meaning she is free to pick up the child anytime after that.
The boy will be the third child adopted by Jolie. Together with partner BRAD PITT, she is mother to Cambodian MADDOX, five, and ZAHARA MARLEY, two.
The couple also welcomed their first biological child together, SHILOH NOUVEL in May (06).

Actress MINNIE DRIVER has welcomed her new role as a convicted drug addict, because she is tired of being typecast as someone’s love interest.

The Bollywood couple announced their engagement in January (07), but have not found time to plan their impending nuptials because of their heavy work schedules.

Hollywood actress/singer BETTY HUTTON has died. She was 86.
Hutton passed away last week (ends11MAR07) in Palm Springs, California.
She was known as the protegee of famed songwriter BUDDY DE SYLVA, and starred in musicals like ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and films such as THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH and INCENDIARY BLONDE.
She was married four times throughout her career but each ended in divorce.
Hutton is survived by her children CANDY and LINDSAY from her marriage to TED BRISKIN, and daughter CAROLINE with her fourth husband PETE CANDOLI.

LETHAL WEAPON star DANNY GLOVER was tricked into going to court yesterday (12MAR07) by two brothers who claimed to have a movie proposal for the actor.
Glover, 60, turned up with his lawyer MARTY SINGER for a meeting at a New York courthouse with LENNOX and LESTER PARRIS, but instead they found the brothers standing trial for stock fraud.
Singer says, "(Glover) thought it was a conference room, and when he arrived, it was a courtroom." The situation was made worse when the actor was prevented from leaving by a photographer, reports the New York Post.
His lawyer adds, "There was a provocation. (Glover) had to shove him aside. I was told that he did not hit the guy." The Parris brothers face fraud charges for selling 28 million shares of now defunct company Queench. They allegedly made $2.55 million (£1.3 million) from the deal.

Irish boy band WESTLIFE insist they will never welcome former member BRIAN McFADDEN back the group, insisting there is "no room" for him now.
McFadden split from the FLYING WITHOUT WINGS group in March 2004 to start a solo career, which has failed to match the success of Westlife.

Late country star JOHN DENVER’s ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH was yesterday (12MAR07) named the second official anthem for the US state of Colorado, the singer’s adopted home.
The song, which became a hit for the tragic musician in 1972, now stands alongside the original WHERE THE COLUMBINES GROW, which has been the state anthem since 1915.
Denver’s brother RON DEUTSCHENDORF says, "He’d be very honoured. We are very proud. I am going to call my mom and tell her." Denver died in October 1997 aged 53, when the aircraft he was piloting crashed off the coast of Pacific Grove, California.

Former THE BAND drummer LEVON HELM has filed a lawsuit against a New York advertising company following the commercial use of his group’s song THE WEIGHT.
Helm - who received a royalty payment for the use of the track in the advert - is requesting further information about BBDO Worldwide’s profits from the mobile phone TV campaign, because he believes he has not received adequate compensation.
He says, "It was just a complete, damn sellout of The Band - its reputation, its music; just as much disrespect as you could pour on Richard and Rick’s tombstones." The Band’s vocalist RICHARD MANUEL passed away in 1986, while bassist RICK DANKO died in 1999.

Mele Mel and his GRANDMASTER FLASH AND THE FURIOUS FIVE bandmates became the first hip-hop artists to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame in New York City yesterday (12MAR07).
Mele Mel, real name MELVIN GLOVER, is proud of his group’s achievement, but is aware that subsequent hip-hop artists, such as 50 Cent, will find it much easier to enter the Hall of Fame, strictly because of their huge sales volume.
He says, "Today’s music is more stagnant - they’ve been doing the same thing, saying the same thing, for years. It’s not going anywhere.
"50 Cent may be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame one day, but he won’t deserve it. All he did was just make records and the records made money.

The ‘Catch and Release’ star says she and her husband definitely want their daughter Violet, who was born in December 2005, to have some brothers and sisters.
They plan to start trying after Jennifer finishes her latest acting roles.
She told You magazine: ‘There will be more children. But I need to work a little bit before I go back into that.
‘Last year, I worked for just five months, whereas in the five years previously I probably took one month off altogether.’ However, the 34-year-old star doesn’t believe she should work as hard at being a mother.
She added: ‘When Violet was born I had to remind myself that even though I’d worked so hard on acting and with such single-mindedness, I should not try to devote that much effort to her.
‘It wouldn’t necessarily be good for her.’ Jennifer has also confessed she cries more now she is a mother.
The actress believes the experience has made her more caring.
She said: ‘Since I became a mother, I cry more because I care about things more.
‘I can’t watch a movie where something happens to a child. And I’ve always cared about global warming and breast cancer, but now there seems to be an urgency about them.’

A source told National Enquirer magazine: ‘Brad and Shiloh saved the day when twin sisters hired to take turns playing actress Cate Blanchett’s character as a baby wouldn’t settle down.
‘Everyone waited in vain while the babies were fed, changed and hugged - but nothing worked to calm them on the set in New Orleans. ‘Then quick-thinking Brad realised his daughter’s happy and mellow disposition made her a quick fix for the role.’ Shiloh, who had been playing in the on set day care centre, was swiftly put in costume.
The source added: ‘She’s a natural. Shiloh did her scenes perfectly and was giggling and happy throughout her big day.’ Brad and Angelina also have an adopted son Maddox, five, and an adopted two-year-old daughter Zahara.
Angelina is in the process of adopting a Vietnamese boy aged between three and four.
