CROMWELL DEFENDS HATHAWAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:20 am

Actor JAMES CROMWELL has defended his BECOMING JANE co-star ANNE HATHAWAY’s portrayal of the iconic English author.
Cromwell, who plays JANE AUSTEN’s father in the film, singled out one critic for his unnecessarily acerbic remarks - which the star believes are unfounded.
He explains, "It was this guy in Scotland, he p**sed all over Anne for not looking sufficiently intellectual.
"I don’t know what the hell that means. I don’t know if that meant the film’s Jane Austen wasn’t plain enough.
"She (Hathaway) is very, very quick and very talented (but) I suppose that’s what you run up against when you do a (film about a) figure, a literary or historical figure, you’re always going to rub up against the grain of people who have a different opinion as to what the factors are that made that life interesting."
