LATEST: Rapper SNOOP DOGG was not arrested in Sweden yesterday (12MAR07), contrary to media reports claiming he was thrown in jail overnight.
The rapper, real name CALVIN BROADUS, was stopped on suspicion of using illegal narcotics after performing at a gig in Stockholm.
The 35-year-old star, who is touring Europe with one-time rival SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS, showed signs of drug use when police pulled over his vehicle at 1.30am and they were taken to a local police station.
But Snoop’s representative says, "Contrary to erroneous press reports, Snoop Dogg was not arrested in Sweden. "He was questioned and released with no charges filed. He is excited to continue his successful co-headlining European tour with Diddy."

Funnyman CHRIS ROCK fears the confusion about the state of his marriage came from him openly stating he was bored in his comedy act.
The comedian and his wife MALAAK have been forced to defend their marriage of late after reports circulated suggested the Rocks were on the rocks.
Rock accepts fans may have been confused about his comedy routine, in which he admitted he was bored with his marriage - but he was just being an honest everyman.
He says, "Anything that is forever is entombment… People make a big deal out of, ‘You say marriage is boring.’ Everything in America, where you live in a country where food and shelter aren’t your biggest concerns, bores you after a point.
"Even sex gets boring. Any long-term relationship can get boring, even if it’s with your favourite restaurant - because eventually you’re gonna get bored with the food in there." In a recent statement, Rock slammed reports his marriage was in trouble, writing, "It is extremely hurtful to us, our children, and our extended family.
We remain, as always, very happy and committed to our marriage and the beautiful family that we have built."

Funnyman CHRIS ROCK can now add video director to his impressive resume after taking charge of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS new promo HUMP DE BUMP.
The comedian directed the video on the Los Angeles set of his hit TV sitcom EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS.
Rock, a longtime friend of Chili Peppers’ frontman ANTHONY KIEDIS, jumped at the chance to direct the video after grumbling about the band’s "arty" promos over dinner with the group’s producer RICK RUBIN.
Rock says, "We were talking about the album (STADIUM ARCADIUM) and I commented to Rick that their videos are very arty. I said, ‘They need to do a straight down-the-middle party, girls, ass-shaking, Rolling Stones-type video.’ "Rick told Anthony what I said, so Anthony pages me and asks if I’d like to direct the video. I said, ‘OK, I’ll direct it, but you have to agree to be the only white people in the video.’" Rock created a Brooklyn block party vibe, where the band members mingle with people from the neighbourhood, cheerleaders and a full marching band.
Chili Peppers’ bassist FLEA is already a huge fan of the video, which premieres in full on MTV in America tomorrow (14MAR07).
He says, "Shooting this video was so great. I was on set all day and only stayed in my trailer for one minute."

LATEST: A surveillance tape reportedly showing troubled pop star BRITNEY SPEARS getting intimate with two female dancers at a New York club has become the latest hot property for internet porn companies.
The TOXIC singer changed into fishnet stockings and a bikini while partying with dancers at nightclub One on 12 February (07) - and things allegedly got steamy with the threesome.
When a manager at the club discovered damaging video footage of the incident, the dancers were subsequently sacked.
A source tells the New York Daily News, "The manager said there was a tape of them. Both girls cried about it when they got fired, but they didn’t deny it." Adds another source, "If that thing gets on the internet, there’s going to be big trouble." According to the newspaper, there are also pictures of Spears’ bare bottom, which were taken while she was trying on clothes with the dancers.

British soul star JOSS STONE is the face of a new online People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) ad aimed at turning music fans into vegetarians.
The singer’s new ad launches today (13MAR07) - the same day as her new album, INTRODUCING JOSS STONE.
In the ad, available at PETA’s youth offshoot peta2’s website, Stone poses with a chicken beside the tagline, "I’m a singer, a songwriter, a performer, and a human being accepting of all sizes, shapes, colours, and species. I am Joss Stone, and I am a vegetarian." The singer has been vegetarian since birth and was voted the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian in a 2005 peta2 poll.
She says, "I wanted to do the shoot because I feel there is no need to cause another living thing pain or harm. There are so many other things we can eat.
"I have never eaten meat in my life, and I’m five feet 10 inches and not exactly wasting away. A wise man once said, ‘Animals are my friends and I’m not in the habit of eating my friends.’ That is exactly how I feel."

LINDSAY LOHAN’s father MICHAEL was set to be released from a New York state prison today (13MAR07) after more than two years behind bars.
Michael was sentenced to serve time after surviving a fiery car crash on Long Island, where he was charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
The former stockbroker, producer and actor has reportedly changed his ways and is now an ordained minister who wants to "make amends for his past mistakes".
Before his prison stint, he was in the process of filming a reality TV series called HOLLYWOOD DAD and plans to resume shooting the show.
The show’s producer BRETT HUDSON explains, "Michael Lohan is a changed man.
I’ve spoken to him often and I know it.
"The last time around, Michael would never admit he’d done anything wrong.
Now, he not only admits his past mistakes, but he wants to right the wrongs he’s done.
"And most of all he wants to get his family on track." Lindsay, who recently completed a stint in rehabilitation facility, is said to be considering reconciling with her father after he wrote her a heartfelt letter from jail asking for forgiveness earlier this year (07).

300 star GERARD BUTLER is set to star in the remake of the 1981 action film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.
Butler is in talks to play SNAKE PLISSKEN in the film, about a one-eyed convict in charge of a raid on a maximum security prison, to liberate the US president.
KURT RUSSELL originated the role in the JOHN CARPENTER film and reprised it in the 1996 sequel, ESCAPE to L.A.

GREY’S ANATOMY star KATHERINE HEIGL has signed on as the face of the first new women’s fragrance from sportswear company Nautica.
The 28-year-old actress recently made headlines after dropping out of contract re-negotiations on the successful medical drama because she wasn’t getting paid as much as her co-stars.
Although she may not have scored a new contract with the show yet, the deal with fragrance maker Coty is reportedly quite lucrative.

Hollywood producers HARVEY and BOB WEINSTEIN are branching out into fashion after acquiring top style label Halston.
The fashion house is best known for dressing the international jet set during the 1960s and 1970s.
Harvey Weinstein explains, "Two years ago, when my brother and I started The Weinstein Company, one key component we were talking about to the investors about was finding a name brand to acquire to diversify our company.
"This partnership will further the natural connection between the adjacent worlds of entertainment and fashion." Harvey denies reports his girlfriend, Marchesa designer GEORGINA CHAPMAN, will be coming on board to run Halston, jokingly adding, "Her attitude is, ‘I’m staying with Marchesa, and you’re the last person I’d ever work for.’" Jimmy Choo founder and president TAMARA MELLON will be brought on board to help structure management and provide creative direction for the brand.
The filmmakers are also considering making a documentary on the life of the company’s founder, RAY HALSTON FROWICK.

LATEST: Photographer LARRY BIRKHEAD was back in a Los Angeles courtroom this morning (13MAR07) asking a judge for a DNA test to determine the real father of ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s baby.
Birkhead and his lawyer DEBRA OPRI were in court to try and force Smith’s lawyer and companion, HOWARD K. STERN, to take a paternity test.
Stern’s name is listed on six-month-old DANNIELYNN’s birth certificate, but Birkhead has been fighting since last October (06) to prove he is the baby’s biological father.
Birkhead claims, "I know where I was and I know where Anna was. I think it’s unfortunate that it’s becoming a circus.
"One of the reason’s it’s become a circus is because no one has brought the baby forward to do the test.
"There’s one way to end it. I’m prepared to take the test and if everyone wants to take the test and get it over with, we have no problem." Stern’s lawyers maintain their client is not required by law to take a test and doesn’t have to prove anything because he is the person listed as the father on the baby’s birth certificate.
Opri said she was confident Stern would be forced to come back to California for the test adding, "(He) can’t hide behind a fake birth certificate."

AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER’s daughter MIA is writing a coming-of-age memoir discussing her troubled youth as the daughter of a rock star and her struggle with weight.
The book will be titled CREATING MYSELF: HOW I LEARNED THAT BEAUTY COMES IN ALL SHAPES, SIZES AND PACKAGES, INCLUDING ME and hits stores in Spring 2008.
The plus-sized model will discuss her battle with body images and offer advice to women and men coping with similar issues.

Rapper ICE CUBE is heading back to the ‘hood with a new reality series aimed at inspiring criminals to turn their lives around.
The rapper, real name O’SHEA JACKSON, will host and produce GOOD IN THE HOOD for US TV network A&E.
The show will feature a reformed gang member, drug dealer or robber who agrees to take on the responsibility of helping people in similar circumstances change their lives. Network Senior Vice President ROB SHARENOW says, "One of the most powerful elements in the show is the personal connection of the two subjects." Sharenow claims people who are still in the clutches of drugs or violence, "are more apt to respond to someone who has walked in their shoes".
He says Ice Cube "plans to be very involved" in the show because "he comes from very difficult beginnings, growing up in a bad neighbourhood in South Central in LA. He transformed his own life." Ice Cube adds, "This show is a way to demonstrate what is going on in a positive way in the urban community."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-husband JASON ALEXANDER alleges the troubled singer started taking drugs in her teenage years.
Alexander, whose brief 2004 marriage to Spears was annulled after 55 hours, tells British magazine Now that the TOXIC star was no stranger to illegal substances.
Spears checked into a Malibu, California rehabilitation centre last month (FEB07) for unspecified problems following months of incessant partying.
Despite Spears refusing to discuss drug allegations, Alexander recently claimed they had used ecstasy together three years ago (04).
He tells Now, "She got away with a lot of stuff (when she was younger) because she’s Britney Spears.
"She wasn’t a virgin when she was dressed up as a schoolgirl in those early videos and she’s been taking drugs for eight years.
"If your life’s been shaped for you, then you’re going to rebel at some point and get confused - and that’s where’s she’s at now.
"Britney first tried drugs when she was 17 or 18. I used to dabble and I knew that she did too, but we never said anything to each other. At least now she’s trying to sort it out by going to rehab."

Pop superstar CHRISTINA AGUILERA is to appear in hit US TV show CSI: NEW YORK, and plans have already been made for a darker theme for the episode.
The AIN’T NO OTHER MAN singer will put her fledgling acting skills to the test in the Crime Scene Investigation series, having previously only voiced a small part in the animated movie SHARK TALE.
Executive producer ANTHONY ZUIKER says, "Christina’s a fan of the show, and we’re excited to have her. The episode will probably explore the topic of battered women."
