Funnyman CHRIS ROCK chose to direct himself in new comedy I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE after realising his first choice wasn’t married.
The comedian admits he and the unnamed filmmaker had a series of "creative differences" on set - because the director he helped hire couldn’t understand what it was like to be in a committed relationship.
In the film, Rock plays a married man resisting temptation as he struggles with the monotony of his relationship.
He says, "We had a falling out. He wasn’t married and it’s really a married person’s movie… Only married people understand marriage."

WILL SMITH is in negotiations for another gritty real-life role - as a convicted drug dealer who turns his life around to become a top chef.
Movie bosses at Columbia have picked up the film rights to Las Vegas chef JEFF HENDERSON’s memoir COOKED as a project for Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.
Smith is slated to star as Henderson, a one-time San Diego, California, cocaine dealer who discovered a passion for cooking in prison.
Now the Executive Chef at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Henderson had to convince Los Angeles area restaurant owners he would be a trustworthy and worthwhile addition to their kitchen teams upon his release from prison.
Smith, who started his film career with a series of comedic roles, has been selecting heavier fare of late.
He was Oscar nominated for his role in THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS, in which he played CHRIS GARDNER, a real-life single father who went from being homeless to running a high-profile stocks company.

LATEST: KYLIE MINOGUE insists she never recorded a song leaked on the internet last week (ends09MAR07) called EXCUSE MY FRENCH.
Reports claimed the Australian pop star was singing about her former French boyfriend OLIVER MARTINEZ.
The couple broke up in January (07) after nearly four years together.
Minogue slams the speculation about the new song and has posted a message on her official website, saying, "Kylie.com would like to set the record straight regarding a track attributed to Kylie entitled Excuse my French. Kylie is not singing on the track and she has never recorded a song by that name.
"She is currently in the studio recording tracks from her tenth studio album hopefully to be released later this year (07)."

YOKO ONO has donated the publishing royalties to the entire JOHN LENNON back catalogue in an effort to make sure a new all-star tribute to her husband is a true charity event.
R.E.M, CHRISTINA AGUILERA and GREEN DAY are among the acts who have recorded Lennon classics for new covers album INSTANT KARMA: THE CAMPAIGN TO SAVE DARFUR.
The disc is part of Amnesty International’s Global Music Activism Project Make Some Noise, which will benefit relief work in Darfur, Sudan.
The album hits stores in June (07), but R.E.M’s version of #9 DREAM has been released as a single today (12MAR07).
Ono admits she was thrilled to be able to help the struggling refugees in Darfur and didn’t hesitate to waive publishing rights for the cause.
She says, "It’s wonderful that, through this campaign, music that is so familiar to many people of my era will now be embraced by a whole new generation.
"John’s music set out to inspire change, and in standing up for human rights, we really can make the world a better place."

Actor and baseball enthusiast BEN AFFLECK has signed on to narrate a quirky new Boston Red Sox DVD aimed at turning young children into die-hard fans.
RED SOX BABY: RAISING TOMORROW’S BOSTON RED SOX FAN TODAY is an educational film, which also prepares infants and pre-school children to become Red Sox fans.
The sports-centered children’s DVD series features Red Sox footage, graphics and merchandise to help teach counting, spelling, shape and colour recognition.
The DVD, which is released on 17 April (07), also advocates teamwork and safety skills.
New dad Affleck, a Boston, Massachusetts native, is a die-hard Red Sox fan.

Movie hunk JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS was so ashamed of his role in soccer film BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM he pretended he wasn’t part of it.
The Irish actor felt sure the 2002 film, which also starred KEIRA KNIGHTLEY and PARMINDER NAGRA, would be a huge flop.
He reveals, "I thought it was going to be terrible. For months and months, I refused to tell anybody that I’d been in a film called Bend It Like Beckham.
"Even in the beginning I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this.’ But I spoke to my brother and he said, ‘Do the film. Everybody’s going to love this.’" The actor admits he’s glad his brother won him over because the film has become a modern classic.
He adds, "It’s one of those girly, guilty-pleasure movies. It’s on that shelf with DIRTY DANCING, FOOTLOOSE and BEACHES."

LAW & ORDER star FRED THOMPSON is considering a run for the White House as US PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH’s Republican replacement.

A top movie screenwriter has revealed SARAH FERGUSON would have been caught up in the post-terrorist attack World Trade Center collapse on 9/11 if it wasn’t for a TV interview.
Actor/writer MIKE BINDER was promoting his short-lived TV series THE MIND OF THE MARRIED MAN on US news show GOOD MORNING AMERICA when New York’s Twin Towers came crashing down - and he remembers the chaos of the morning well.
One thing that he’ll always remember is the British royal’s reaction to the terrorist attacks - because she was in the studio with him.
Binder, who has since written and directed new drama REIGN OVER ME - focusing on the men and women still trying to come to terms with the horrors of 9/11, says, "I was actually on Good Morning America, being interviewed, when the first plane hit. I was sitting next to Sarah Ferguson.
"Fergie had just left the World Trade Center. Her office was there and if she hadn’t left to be on Good Morning America she’d be dead. We were all stuck there for a while." Binder is still troubled by the memory of the desperate men and women he bumped into while walking through New York the night after the tragedy: "I remember seeing this woman in Bryant Park and she was just crying hysterically and people were trying to calm her down. I could only imagine who she lost."

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE star KRISTY SWANSON is set to play ANNA NICOLE SMITH in an episode of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.
The first fictionalised version of the tragic Playboy Playmate’s story will air on US network NBC in May (07).
Swanson portrayed Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the feature film before SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR starred in the TV series based on the movie.
Sources tell Fox News Smith’s lawyer and companion, HOWARD K STERN, could be played by actor and comedian JON LOVITZ.
Writers from the show have not included LARRY BIRKHEAD, who claims to be the father of Smith’s baby daughter, DANNIELYNN, but are considering writing a character based loosely based on Smith’s mother VIRGIE ARTHUR and her sister.
Smith died in a Florida hotel suite last month (FEB07) at the age of 39. The cause of her death has still not been released, pending a police investigation.
Swanson is no stranger to scandal herself, she had a baby last month (FEB07) with LLOYD EISLER, her partner on US reality TV series SKATING WITH CELEBRITIES.
Eisler is still married to the mother of his two very young children.

Acting pals ROB MORROW, CHAD LOWE and FISHER STEVENS sparked a major emergency operation in the mountains near Aspen, Colorado at the weekend (10-11MAR07) when they accidentally skied into an off-limits area.
The trio were taking part in the Celebrity Downhill event to benefit Colorado’s Aspen Youth Experience when they realised they were lost. They had to be rescued by the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol.
Former NORTHERN EXPOSURE star Morrow tells local newspaper the Aspen Times Weekly, "Fortunately, we’re all good skiers, (but) we were going every which way." Morrow, Lowe and Stevens found themselves stranded with other lost skiers, who used a cellphone to call for help.
Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol members then located the lost group and helped navigate them down the mountain.
Morrow adds, "It ended up being great because it was a good adventure."

DAVID HASSELHOFF is hoping to turn his stint as a cross dresser in the Las Vegas production of THE PRODUCERS into a showcase for his own talents - he’s in secret negotiations to launch his own Sin City residency.
The BAYWATCH creator is receiving rave reviews for his portrayal of gay director ROGER DEBRIS in the comedy musical, and now quite fancies himself as a La Vegas regular.
He says, "I originally thought to do it (show), tongue-in-cheek about my life - a tour of my life through song, (but) now I’m leaning toward doing the hottest heterosexual show you’ve ever seen.
"Hopefully you’ll see it in the next three months or so." If the show comes off, Hasselhoff will join the likes of CELINE DION, BARRY MANILOW and TONI BRAXTON who all have Las Vegas residencies.

FRIDA star SALMA HAYEK made her first appearance with fiance, French businessman FRANCOIS-HENRI PINAULT, on Saturday (10MAR07) after the couple announced they were engaged and expecting a baby.

LATEST: US chat show king JAY LENO has paid tribute to tragic comedian RICHARD JENI after the comic was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday (10MAR07).
Jeni appeared on Leno’s THE TONIGHT SHOW more than any other guest, and the TV host admits he was stunned to hear of the funnyman’s suspected suicide.
In a statement, Leno says, "I was totally shocked. He was a great comic… a great guy.
"He had an everyman kind of appeal, he was a kid from New York and his comedy was that of a kid from New York… He just made me laugh.
"Whenever I watched Richard, I’d go, ‘Man, I wish I had his material.’"

American designer MARC JACOBS has checked into rehab after a recent relapse.
The 38-year-old decided to enter a rehab centre in Arizona after showing his Louis Vuitton collection during Paris Fashion Week last week (ends09MAR07).
Jacobs has been sober for seven years, but decided to seek treatment after his relapse. He previously entered rehab in 1999.
His business partner ROBERT DUFFY tells Women’s Wear Daily, "Marc made the right decision. He’d been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away.
"According to the experts, such a relapse isn’t uncommon. Thankfully, Marc recognised the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him."

Country music star WILLIE NELSON refuses to cut his long locks, even though he has been asked to change his style for various projects he has worked on.
The 73-year-old singer is known for his long braids and cowboy hat and insists he won’t be getting a makeover anytime soon.
He tells Stuff magazine, "There have been a couple of times I’ve run into people who have requested that I cut my hair, but I’m not going to do it. "Not for a movie or anything. You know, I might decided I don’t like it one day and cut if all off, but I wouldn’t do it just because that’s what somebody wanted me to do."
