JACKSON WOWS US TROOPS
Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON took time out of his busy Japanese tour to visit US troops in Tokyo.
The THRILLER singer, who arrived in the country last week (begs04MAR07) to greet fans at parties organised in his honour, paid tribute to soldiers at Camp Zama yesterday (10MAR07).
Garrison commander COLONEL ROBERT M. WALTEMEYER presented Jackson with a framed certificate thanking him for his support. In turn, the star took part in a promotion ceremony, placing a pin on the uniform of the honoured soldier.
Jackson told the assembled troops, "(You are) some of the most special people in the world.
"It is because of you in here today, and others who so valiantly have given their lives to protect us, that we enjoy our freedom."
