Michael Jackson said he would not chance a thing about his career – despite ‘deliberate attempts to hurt’ him. The eccentric star took a moment to reflect on his career, while attending a party in his honour in Tokyo, Japan, on Thursday (08.03.07).
Michael said: ‘I’ve been in the entertainment industry since I was six years old. As Charles Dickens says, ‘It’s been the best of times, the worst of times.’ But I would not change my career.’ ‘Thriller’ singer Michael was guest of honour at the buffet dinner - where 400 people had each paid $3,500 for tickets. After watching a show featuring several Japanese Michael Jackson impersonators, the singer – dressed in a black and gold Roberto Cavalli suit and sunglasses – took to the stage to thank fans and guests for attending but did not perform. More than 100 orphans and disabled children were invited to the event for free.
Michael – who was acquitted of child molestation charges in 2005 – is currently attempting to revive his career. Rumours are rife Michael is to reform the Jackson Five with his brothers.
