BRITNEY SPEARS’ aides are encouraging the pop superstar to pour out her rehab emotions in her journal because the last time she did, it inspired a string of hits.
The TOXIC singer, who is currently seeking counselling at Promises rehab centre in Malibu, California, has started scribbling down her inner-most feelings about her struggle with addiction, and family and friends couldn’t be happier.
When Spears previously took time to write down her thoughts and feelings, she came up with hits like I’M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN.
A source tells the new issue of America’s Life & Style magazine, "She’s really baring her soul." And a pal adds, "When Britney writes in her journal, it’s as if there’s no one else there but her. I’ve seen her cry or laugh out loud, but she’s really in her own world.
"(She used to) pour her feelings into poems in her journal. She’s always found writing to be cathartic." And the journal notes aren’t the only things Spears is writing in rehab she’s also penning a series of apology letters, which are part of the centre’s recovery programme.
An insider says, "The letters aren’t meant to be sent. They just help her work through her feelings and issues."

Producer TIMBALAND and BRITNEY SPEARS’ former boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE want to help the troubled pop star resurrect her once-stellar career.
Timbaland has approached Timberlake about working with Spears on a comeback project and her ex has agreed to lend a hand.
The rapper and producer - real name TIMOTHY MOSLEY - tells American publication Entertainment Weekly, "I feel her pain, it really bothers me.
"I’m the type of person who tries to save the world. I just want to take her away, go overseas, and work (it) out." Timbaland says he invited Timberlake, who he calls his "best friend", to work with him to help Spears.
He explains, "I asked Justin, ‘How would you feel about me working with Britney?’ I had to ask him that. I said, ‘Would you do it with me?’" According to Timbaland, the SEXYBACK singer agreed, saying, "She’s just gotta be serious." Spears is currently seeking treatment at a drug and rehabilitation centre in California.
Timbaland adds, "I just want to hold her hand. I want her to be in my camp, to be around Justin. I need Justin to talk to her. Help her, please!"

MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY is set to star as a surfer in the middle of an existential crisis in the new film SURFER, DUDE.
The SAHARA star is currently filming FOOL’S GOLD in Australia, where he has been frequently photographed catching waves, and now it looks like his surfing skills are about to pay off.
Production on the new film, which McConaughey will also produce, will start on 7 May (07) in Malibu, California.

LATEST: ANGELINA JOLIE is being fast-tracked through the Vietnamese adoption system so she can adopt a young boy there in May (07), according to a local official.
VU DUC LONG, director of the south east Asian nation’s Ministry of Justice’s International Adoption Department, has confirmed Jolie’s application has been speeded up because she chose the child during a previous visit to Ho Chi Minh City.
He says, "She might receive her adoptive child in three months, one month earlier than the normal time frame for an adoption.
"He is between four and five and now stays at the Tam Binh orphanage." The TOMB RAIDER actress filed papers through a US adoption agency to take custody of the child three months ago.
Jolie, her partner BRAD PITT and their family visited Vietnam in November (06) in between filming of A MIGHTY HEART in Pakistan.
Jolie adopted Cambodian-born Maddox in 2002 and Ethiopian-born Zahara in 2005. She gave birth to Pitt’s child Shiloh in Namibia last May (06).

Troubled pop star BRITNEY SPEARS reportedly believes she doesn’t need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse because she is suffering from postpartum depression.
The TOXIC singer has been in rehab in Malibu, California for two weeks and is furious with friends and family for making her seek counselling.
A source tells American publication Us Weekly, "She’s convinced she’s suffering from postpartum depression and does not think she has an alcohol or drug problem.
"She’s angry at her family and her manager for pressuring her to enter the programme. She feels she was ambushed." Spears checked in to Promises Residential Treatment Centre on 21 February (07), after several months of hard-partying.
A source says doctors are still concerned about her condition saying, "They’re in shock at what bad shape she’s in." The 25-year-old has reportedly not been on her best behaviour at the facility.
A source adds, "(She) has been getting in tons of trouble. (She’s) been reprimanded for making cell phone calls, has left the facility to shop, and now she wants to leave rehab for good."

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has reportedly taken a swipe at rival LINDSAY LOHAN over her unprofessional behaviour on film sets.
Both actresses have dated actor/singer JARED LETO and tabloid reports claim there is tension between the two stars.
Lohan was publicly reprimanded by studio bosses last year (06) for her unprofessional behaviour on the set of GEORGIA RULE and Johansson takes what appears to be a shot a Lohan in an interview with American publication Parade.
She explains, "I’m very responsible when I’m working. I’ve just been doing it for a long time and I’m not the kind of person who is going to show up to work three hours late, or maybe not come at all.
"That’s just not who I am. That just has to do with the fact that I understand that everybody else comes to work and we would all like to get an extra four hours of sleep, but what can you do?"

JENNIFER ANISTON is embarking on a new healthy lifestyle and has cut out cigarettes and eliminated caffeine from her diet.
Aniston has expressed her new-found love of yoga is responsible for her efforts to make changes in other areas of her life.
And pals are convinced she means business after watching the 38-year-old in action on pal COURTNEY COX’s TV drama DIRT recently.
Dirt actress LAURA ALLEN, who spent time with Cox and Aniston on the set, tells American publication Us Weekly, "Jen was doing a total cleansing.
"(She) did a lot of yoga to stop smoking. Between takes, it would have been tempting to go outside and have a cigarette.
"Instead, Jen was clinging to Courteney. She said how hard it was." In addition to resisting the temptation to indulge in smoking, Aniston also managed to refrain from caffeine.
Allen adds, "I had a Diet Coke on-set and she was really jonesing (craving) for it!"

THE NOTEBOOK star RACHEL McADAMS has given up vegetarianism because her diet was leaving her with no energy.
The actress found herself falling asleep at a CHRIS ROCK show and decided it was time to change her diet.
The 28-year-old was a devoted vegetarian until the incident.
She says, "I stopped eating meat for a few years and got so tired I fell asleep during a Chris Rock show - live, front row! "I was like, ‘I’m picking up some bacon tomorrow!’ You have to be so strict to be a vegetarian. And I’m only human."

FORREST GUMP is set to return to the big screen, 13 years after TOM HANKS turned the unlikely hero into a movie sensation.
Hanks, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of the slow-witted Gump, is considering a return for the sequel, while co-star GARY SINISE has reportedly shown interest in reprising his character, LIEUTENANT DAN.
According to website CinemaBlend.com, celebrated screenwriter ERIC ROTH’s 2001 Gump sequel screenplay is being tweaked by producers STEVE TISCH and WENDY FINERMAN, after they settled an ongoing rights battle with Gump creator, novelist WINSTON GROOM.
Roth’s sequel script is reportedly based on Groom’s Forrest Gump follow-up, GUMP & CO.
In one of the new movie’s most incredible scenes, Gump actually meets the real Tom Hanks, as he finds himself rubbing shoulders with the rich and powerful while attempting to expand his shrimping business.

Former FRIENDS star COURTENEY COX has paid almost $20 million (£10.2 million) for a wreck of a house overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The actress, who has a passion for interior design and house renovation, jumped at the chance to buy the cliff-top estate because it’s an amazing piece of land, with stunning views and total privacy.
One realtor tells American magazine In Touch, "This is an incredible piece of coastline, but the house is far from luxurious." Cox and husband DAVID ARQUETTE’s current Malibu, California home is on the market for $33.5 million (£17.2 million), six years after she paid $10.2 million (£5.2 million) for it.
According to In Touch, the new cliff-top estate features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two guesthouses, a hot tub and a beach cabana.

THE SIXTH SENSE director M NIGHT SHYAMALAN has signed on to make thriller THE HAPPENING in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The project will be the first movie he has made since his public falling out with film studio Disney over box-office flop LADY IN THE WATER.
Hollywood studio 20th Century Fox has given the new film the green light.
The Happening centres around a family "running from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to mankind." The movie, which Shyamalan also wrote, will be his first R-rated film.
He explains, "(We’re) trying to get the kind of intensity that is present in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and the kind that GUILLERMO DEL TORO got in PAN’S LABYRINTH.
"The impact of the beautiful things in that movie wouldn’t have landed as strongly if the film had not been R-rated." The movie begins shooting in Philadelphia in August (07) and is set for a June 2008 release.

Former ‘N SYNC star LANCE BASS is writing an autobiography about his time in the boy band and his decision to ‘come out’ as a homosexual last year (06).
The 27-year-old is writing OUT OF SYNC, which will hit stores in October (07).

Bass will also recall his childhood in Mississippi and his training in Russia to become a cosmonaut.

A former drummer for BECK has been hired to join reformed Australian group CROWDED HOUSE.
MATT SHERROD was selected for the coveted role after band members NEIL FINN and NICK SEYMOUR held dozens of auditions in Australia, the US and the UK.
In a post on his website, singer/songwriter Finn says: "A big thank you to all who put their hand up, and sorry we didn’t get to play with everyone, but time and geography were against us.
