Award-winning actress THANDIE NEWTON has adopted a young orphaned puppy after falling in love with the pooch during a charity appearance.
Newton visited the Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre yesterday (05MAR07) and took charge of eight-week-old mongrel MAGGIE, whose last owners couldn’t cope with the little dog.
She says, "It’s my first dog and I’m quite nervous.
"She is adorable and we fell in love with her instantly."
