BRITNEY SPEARS’ estranged husband KEVIN FEDERLINE took their two young sons to Las Vegas over the weekend (ends04MAR07) - for a promotional appearance at a nightclub.
Federline is watching the couple’s children SEAN PRESTON, 18 months, and JAYDEN JAMES, six months, while Spears is seeking treatment in rehab.
Federline was in Las Vegas for a long-planned paid appearance at the Mirage Hotel & Casino lounge Revolution.
A source tells American publication People, "Kevin was really low-key. You could definitely tell he was on his best behaviour.
"He was having a good time, but wasn’t the wild, crazy Kevin who used to come to Vegas." The former back-up dancer arrived on Saturday (03MAR07), along with an unusual entourage, featuring a nanny, his mother and brother and two bodyguards.
Although he was in town for a party appearance, Federline appeared to have his priorities straight.
The source adds, "He was late for dinner (with friends and family) because he wanted to tuck his kids into bed."

SANDRA BULLOCK is struggling with tango lessons for her new film KISS & TANGO, in which she plays a dancer.
The actress felt confident that her limited dancing skills would help her perfect the sexy moves, but it has become the most frustrating thing she has ever attempted.
She explains, "I knew how to salsa, meringue and I knew how to do all that and so I went into it going, ‘I can do this.’ "It has been a good life lesson for me - the learnings and the teachings of true Argentinean tango.
"Go take a tango class and you’ll want to go home and kill yourself because you are so inept if you’ve never taken one. It is just frustrating but beautiful when it all comes together. I now have tremendous appreciation for it, but it can be so frustrating."

SCARLETT JOHANSSON insists she has no idea why she is constantly labelled as sexy, because she thinks she looks like a boy.
Johansson’s SCOOP director, WOODY ALLEN, has said the actress is so attractive that she was "touched by God", but Johansson says she doesn’t know what all the fuss is about.
She tells American publication Parade, "I think I look kind of like a boy. I mean, not my body, obviously." And the 22-year-old, who has recently been linked romantically to JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, says being called sexy "is a nice compliment, I guess. It’s funny, because, for a male actor, the idea of being sexy can be very daunting.
"A lot of young male actors want to be chameleons and play all different kinds of characters. For a woman, I think it’s always a compliment to have people think you’re attractive."

The actor has had a variety of intense roles in films including CHOPPER, MUNICH and BLACK HAWK DOWN.
He tells Elle magazine, "I have a problem where, when I think I’m looking friendly, I look like I want to kill someone.
"If my character has to feel something, I pretty much want to feel it. I want to feel like I’m killing someone. I want to feel the guilt someone feels after he’s stabbed someone or shot someone.

Music mogul SIMON COWELL has hired outrageous talk show host JERRY SPRINGER to front his hit US TV talent contest AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.
Springer will replace chat show host REGIS PHILBIN as the presenter of the variety competition series when it returns to TV this summer (07).
Springer, 63, was slated to host the show after becoming a fan favourite on the last series of celebrity TV talent contest DANCING WITH THE STARS.
Last summer’s (07) first season of America’s Got Talent was won by 12-year-old singer BIANCA RYAN, who has since won a recording contract with Columbia Records.

DREAMGIRLS star JENNIFER HUDSON is using her Oscar win in a bid to help her land another dream role - in a new movie about sports hero JACKIE ROBINSON.
The former AMERICAN IDOL contestant is using her post-Oscars interviews to let ROBERT REDFORD know she wants a part in his new film about the Brooklyn Dodgers star.
She says, "I’d like to be a part of that. It tells of greatness and our history; that means something to me." Robinson became the first black Major League Baseball player of the modern era in 1947 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1962. He also became a human rights activist.
Redford’s new untitled biopic will focus on Robinson’s struggles with race.
Redford, who will produce the film, is slated to play the Dodgers’ General Manager BRANCH RICKEY.

SCRUBS star ZACH BRAFF is set to become one of the highest paid actors on TV if the hit sitcom gets renewed by US network NBC for a seventh season.
According to sources, the 31-year-old actor has landed a deal that will earn him around $350,000 (£179,000) per episode for the 2007-08 season.
The new deal will put him in the top echelon of highest-paid male actors on US television, alongside TWO AND HALF MEN star CHARLIE SHEEN, whose paycheque is also in the $350,000 per episode range.
Braff, who also wrote, directed and starred in the 2004 independent romantic comedy GARDEN STATE, plays DR JOHN ‘J.D.’ DORIAN on the show.

ZODIAC star MARK RUFFALO and his wife SUNRISE COIGNEY are expecting their third child together.
Ruffalo and 34-year-old Coigney - the owner of chic Los Angeles boutique Kaviar and Kind - wed in 2000 and have two children, five-year-old son KEEN, and one-year-old daughter BELLA.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s daughter DANNIELYNN is "doing fine" after the sudden death of her mother, according to the woman who has been looking after the baby since the model’s death.
GERLENE GIBSON has been the baby’s constant companion since Dannielynn was six weeks old and she was the person watching over her when Smith died on 8 February (07) in Florida.
Gibson also looked after Dannielynn while her late mother was buried in the Bahamas on Friday (02MAR07), and now the mother of former Bahamian Immigration Minister SHANE GIBSON is letting fans know the six-month-old is being well looked after, amid all the fuss.
She tells America’s People magazine, "She is doing fine. She is growing.
She’s rolling over, and she’s trying to pull herself up. She plays peek-a-boo.
She likes all her toys. She has a bouncy seat." The baby is currently the subject of a custody battle in the Bahamas between Smith’s companion HOWARD K. STERN, former boyfriend LARRY BIRKHEAD and Smith’s mother VIRGIE ARTHUR.
Gibson confirms the baby was asleep last week (ends02MAR07) when her grandmother saw her for the first time, explaining, "When (Arthur) came she was very much asleep. She looked at her in the crib and that was it." Gibson adds that when she looks in the child’s face she sees Smith looking back: "I can see Anna’s smile. She has her mother’s mouth and I think she has her mother’s eyes, as well."

BARENAKED LADIES and LYNYRD SKYNYRD are set to hit the high seas next year (08) as part of an ongoing cruise initiative.
The sea-faring bosses of Georgia company Sixthman have invited the two party groups to entertain clients as part of two separate themed cruises in 2008.
Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline on Rock Boat VIII, while Canada’s Barenaked Ladies will perform on the Ships & Dip III.
Each cruise will feature live performances and the chance for guests to meet the band.
The 2008 cruising concert won’t be Skynyrd’s first - the FREEBIRD rockers performed on the Gimme 3 Days high seas festival on a ship bound for the Bahamas in January (07).
Next year (08), the group will headline concerts on a cruise to Mexico, while Barenaked Ladies will set sail to Grand Cayman and Jamaica.
Barenaked Ladies are no strangers to the cruising concert concept either - on this year’s Ships & Dip adventure, the fun-loving IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS group performed and hosted wine tastings and game nights onboard.

Former GO-GOs singer BELINDA CARLISLE has ditched her hard-partying ways to become a devout Buddhist.
The VACATION singer discovered the religion five years ago and now leads a much healthier, balanced life to the wild one she was famous for in the 1980s.
She tells Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald, "I don’t smoke anymore, I don’t drink any more and I don’t do drugs any more. I am very much into my Buddhism.
"I found turning 40 a real passage in time for me. I found myself asking who was I, where had I been, what had I been doing.
"I was wondering about happiness and started reading a lot of books by the DALAI LAMA, and slowly embraced Buddhism.
"I grew up in a strict Christian family and (was) forced to go to church every Sunday and religion never clicked with me.
"I just felt that there was something else, but I never found it, but now I am certain I have."

Oscar winner JENNIFER HUDSON returned to her AMERICAN IDOL roots and made a surprise visit to the show last week (28FEB07) to support this season’s contestants.
Hudson made it to the finals of the TV talent show in season three, but she was voted off the programme. FANTASIA BARRINO went on to claim victory.
But, in a bid to prove she has no hard feelings about missing out on the chance to become an Idol winner, Hudson secretly returned to the show to offer the current batch of wannabes encouragement.
The DREAMGIRLS star says, "I just went to visit the show. I wanted to surprise the kids. I wanted to meet the contestants.
"It was elimination day. I still remember that day. I still get nervous on Wednesdays, because I was always in the bottom three (to be voted off the show).
"So I wanted to go and encourage them. The last thing I said is, ‘Remember, it’s OK if you get eliminated!’ I’m the perfect person to tell them that."

LATEST: Country duo BROOKS & DUNN have climbed over GEORGE STRAIT as the big draw at the upcoming Academy Of Country Music Awards in May (07) after landing another two honours.
It was announced yesterday (05MAR07) that Strait led the nominations with eight, but now Brooks & Dunn have the chance to take home nine prizes between them.
As well as the categories announced early yesterday, the duo will also collect the ACM Humanitarian Award and band member RONNIE DUNN is up for a Vocal Event prize for his ASHLEY MONROE duet I DON’T WANT TO.
As Humanitarian Award winners, Brooks & Dunn will be able to donate a playground to the community of their choice.
The duo is being honoured for their charity work, which includes stepping up for Hurricane Katrina relief and Habitat for Humanity, among others.

Rapper YOUNG BUCK and his entourage were caught up in a bar brawl in New York City on Friday (02MAR07).
The rapper, real name DAVID BROWN, and his group bolted from Chelsea club Eugene after a heated exchange reportedly escalated into a fight.
A witness tells the New York Daily News, "It was one of those fights where everybody was going at each other.
"Young Buck looked like he wanted a piece of the action and started swinging punches, too." The witness says no injuries were reported "but Eugene’s was a bit worse for the wear!"

British singer JOSS STONE was left so heartbroken after her split with ex-boyfriend BEAU DOZIER she has sworn off men for the foreseeable future.
The 19-year-old star, who has penned new track NOT REAL LOVE (I WISH I’D NEVER MET YOU) about her love woes, admitted this week (begs05MAR07) that record producer Dozier made her feel insecure during their 18 month relationship. The couple parted ways in November 2005.
Since the split, Stone has been on a few dates. But she’s so angry with men failing to treat her right she has temporarily taken herself off the dating circuit.
Stone says, "I’m really p**sed off with men right now. I don’t think they can love me right.
"I’m going through a phase where I’m so depressed about blokes. It’s horrible being a young girl looking for love in all the wrong places. It’s a waste of time."
