US punk icons BAD BRAINS are planning a major comeback with BEASTIE BOYS star ADAM YAUCH.
Yauch, aka MCA, has produced the group’s untitled new album.
The Beastie Boys star says, "The Brains are one of most powerful and unique bands in the world. They have been a huge influence on me, and it was an honour to work with them on this record."

Reformed rockers THE POLICE have turned their attention to Europe after selling out stadiums across North America.
The ROXANNE trio will play late summer (07) shows in Sweden, Britain, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Spain, according to the band’s website.
After completing dates in America, which sold out within hours of going on sale, The Police will perform in Stockholm, Sweden on 29 August (07) before frontman STING returns to his native England to play shows in Birmingham and at London’s Twickenham Stadium (SEP07).
More European dates are pending.

Electric guitar inventor LES PAUL has donated $50,000 (£27,000) to his hometown in Wisconsin.
Part of the cash will help open an exhibit focused on the guitar great’s achievements.
The 91-year-old Grammy Award winner contributed $25,000 (£13,000) to the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum, which is raising money for the Les Paul exhibit.
The museum had raised nearly $1 million (£513,000) by last summer (06) towards its goal of $4 million (£2 million).
Paul also has given $25,000 (£13,000) to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the local hospital that has served his family over the years.
Hospital president ED OLSON says, "It says something special about someone of Mr Paul’s stature who never forgets his roots." Paul developed the solid-body electric guitar in the 1940s and has also donated many artifacts and memorabilia for the planned exhibit.

A RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS fan has died in New Zealand after being run over while camping out, waiting to buy tickets for a concert.
According to authorities, the 18-year-old was hit this morning (05MAR07) while waiting for a ticket outlet in the northern North Island town of Whangarei to open.
He was sleeping in the venue’s car park when the incident happened.
Local police are looking for the driver of the car, who immediately drove off after the incident.
A representative for the group says, "The band’s hearts and prayers are with the family at this sad time."

30 SECONDS TO MARS bassist MATT WACHTER has quit the band to spend more time with his family.
In a message posted on the band’s website the group, fronted by JARED LETO, has collectively thanked Wachter for his services, and gracefully accept his decision to leave.
The band writes: "After five wonderful years on the road with 30 Seconds To Mars, Matt Wachter has decided it is time to spend more time with his family at home.
"We love and support him completely and accept his decision with respect and understanding. This is not an end, it is a new beginning.
"There are times we all wish for things to stay the same, but change is inevitable and we believe it must be embraced as a gift, not as anything else.
"There are only positive feelings between us all and we will always remember the wonderful contributions he made to this project." The group made headlines at the weekend (ends04MAR07) when Leto broke his nose during a concert in Texas, after he was rushed by fans after running into the crowd.

GEORGE STRAIT has been crowned the king of country this morning (05MAR07) after landing eight nominations for the upcoming Academy Of Country Music Awards.
Strait landed nods for Entertainer Of The Year and Top Male Vocalist, among his haul.
If he claims victory in May (07), he’ll pick up his first ACM awards since 1997.
Meanwhile, BROOKS & DUNN picked up seven nominations, including Entertainer and Album Of The Year, and country trio RASCAL FLATTS claimed six nominations, also including Entertainer Of The Year.
Former AMERICAN IDOL star CARRIE UNDERWOOD received five nominations, including Top Female Vocalist, and BIG & RICH landed four.
The awards will be handed out at the 42nd Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

LATEST: MICHAEL HUTCHENCE’s brother has hit back at his mother after she criticised him for selling the deceased singer’s personal belongings on internet auction site eBay.
RHETT HUTCHENCE insists he is not trying to cash in on the former INXS frontman’s fame, but rather he is selling the items in the name of love.
The 44-year-old claims he is auctioning off some "unimportant" knick-knacks on eBay so he can afford to move to the Netherlands to be with his 28-year-old flight attendant girlfriend.
He tells Sydney, Australia’s Daily Telegraph, "I assure you all the really important things I’m keeping. I will be passing on a lot of these things to (Michael’s daughter) TIGER when she’s old enough.
"Michael wouldn’t have minded at all - he’d be happy I’m in love and have some direction in my life." The Hutchence brothers’ mother PATRICIA GLASSOP claims to have disowned her son for selling a personal fax between Michael and his former girlfriend KYLIE MINOGUE from 1990 for $400 (£205) on eBay.
But Rhett is disappointed by his mother’s comments: "There’s nothing untoward about this, as far as I can see it’s just a piece of paper that Michael had written on, proclaiming his love for Kylie.
"I don’t see a problem with that. I’m surprised she said that. She could have asked me about it first."

The 41-year-old actress surprised the showbiz world when she tied the knot with the Indian businessman in a civil ceremony at Gloucestershire’s Sudeley Castle, a day early.
The couple, who had been said they were to be married on Saturday (03.03.07), instead had their union blessed on that day.
Reverend John Partington, who led the blessing ceremony, revealed: ‘The bride and groom looked stunning. Liz’s son Damian was the ring bearer.’ Liz - who was wearing an off-white V-necked Versace sleeveless dress - was emotional throughout her big day.

The Beatles legend, who attended a private hearing at London’s High Court last week, was seen giving a two-fingered ‘victory’ sign as he emerged from court and believes the case is going his way.
The two-day hearing examined Heather’s claims that Paul was physically violent towards her during their four-year marriage.
Paul’s lawyers are said to have produced a ‘truth and lies’ document which examined each of Heather’s claims which they believe cemented their arguments that the former model is a ‘fantasist’.
A source said: ‘Paul had prepared a dossier to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that Heather is a liar. They went through every single utterance she has made and scrutinised them thoroughly.’ The document allegedly caused such concern for Heather’s lawyers that she was advised to agree to a settlement.
The hearing also examined Heather’s maintenance and security costs.
Heather, 39 - who has received death threats since the couple split last May - has reportedly demanded round-the-clock security Paul, 64, insists he should only provide security when Heather is with their three-year-old daughter Beatrice.

Pete, who fell out with Carl after he threw him out of The Libertines, has buried the hatchet and is desperate for Carl to be there when he marries supermodel Kate Moss.
Carl, who is the lead singer of new group Dirty Pretty Things, admits he was surprised by Pete’s request and has hinted the wedding could take place soon.
Carl is quoted by Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: ‘We had a heart-to-heart and Pete asked me if I’d be his best man. At first I thought he was joking. But he told me he and Kate were desperate to marry.
‘I was shocked but delighted. I’m touched that after all we’ve been through we could finally put it behind us and move on.’ Carl has already started planning his speech for the big day.
He said: ‘Pete suggested I do a reading, something from Chekhov.’ Pete, 27, was jailed for six months in 2003 after burgling Carl’s apartment.
Carl threw Pete out of the band the following year when his drug taking spiralled out of control.
Meanwhile, Pete has revealed he and Kate, 33, want to marry in a remote hideaway - but their plans were dashed after police confiscated his passport.
Pete fumed: ‘We can’t get married thanks to the police. We want to go somewhere special, miles away from anywhere. We can’t wait, it’s going to be a beautiful wedding. But the police have taken my passport.’ Pete’s passport was taken after he was given a two-year supervision order for drugs offences.

Avril told Britain’s Arena magazine: ‘I had the most fun in the studio making this record - we were getting drunk, scootering around, ordering junk food and I think that comes across on the record.’ The 22-year-old singer insists she is much better behaved when she drinks, compared to when she was younger.
She said: ‘I used to have a few drinks and yell, ‘Woooo!’ and take my top off! But I haven’t done that in a few years.

Hathaway told British radio station Heart: ‘Sometimes you work with actors, and they can be lovely guys, but they have kind of dodgy instincts when it comes to kissing in scenes.

Richard Milstein - court appointed guardian for Anna Nicole’s five-month-old daughter Dannielynn - told crowds gathered outside the Mount Horeb Baptist Church: ‘Today we share our grief with all of you. Today we come to you to carry out the final, most sacred, solemn act provided to any individual.’ The late model-and-actress’ mother, Virgie Arthur, and ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, were both present although Dannielynn was not brought to the ceremony.
Both Stern and Birkhead claim to be Dannielynn’s biological father.

After the service, Anna Nicole’s coffin was taken to Lake View cemetery, where she was buried in a tiara and custom-made, beaded gown next to her son, Daniel, who died of drug-related causes last September.
Anna Nicole died aged just 39 on February 8 after being found unconscious in a Florida hotel room.
In the wake of her death a court battle for the custody of her body ensued after her mother said she wanted her buried near the family home in Texas.

The ‘Fight Club’ star was performing with his band 30 Seconds to Mars when he ran into the Texan crowd and was ‘rushed by fans’. He suffered a broken nose and minor injuries to his foot, face and body.
Tour manager Kevin Lyman said: ‘In all my 25 years of producing shows this was one of the scariest moments I have seen. We all hope Jared has a speedy recovery.’ Despite his injuries, Leto, 35, finished the show, even declaring it one of his best ever.
He later checked into hospital to discover if his injuries required surgery.
The ‘Chapter 27′ star and his band were performing in the Taste of Chaos tour, with other band including The Used and Senses Fail.
Last October, Leto had an altercation with Elijah Wood at an MTV awards ceremony after Elijah told him he wasn’t impressed with his band.
Wood said: ‘He was basically upset at the fact that I said I didn’t like his band.
‘He said that initially and then walked away. I guess he thought I was laughing at him, but I was more shell-shocked and telling people around me, ‘Whoa, I just got told off by Jared Leto for not liking his band.’ And that’s when he came back and grabbed me.’

We are doing every thing to make sure the food gets there safely and every thing is above board.’ The meal was ordered for Kanye and seven guests by a music promoter on Sunday night (04.03.07). It will be served on Wednesday (07.03.07) during a high-powered meeting.
The food will be made by head chef Kaysor Ahmed and then cooled, shrink-wrapped and packed in dry ice before being flown by helicopter to Heathrow airport on Tuesday (06.03.07) and then delivered to New York.
The head chef will fly to the US with the food, to make sure it arrives in pristine condition.
The complete bill will be $3,900, including travel and accommodation.

The ‘Batman Begins’ star considers himself a serious actor and would only ever agree to appear in a funny love story if he was seriously desperate.
Bale told America’s GQ magazine: ‘I will never say never, but I will say never to doing the more typical romantic comedies. You know, unless I’m getting audited and I’m on the street and I desperately need some dough and that’s the only thing that I’m getting. In terms of the romantic kind of lead, I just never enjoy those movies very much.’ Bale admits his opinions may change as he ages, but he believes romantic comedies are a total contradiction.
The 33-year-old explained: ‘Maybe they’ll come to interest me more as I get older. I doubt it, but maybe. Romantic comedies tend to be, for me, an oxymoron.’

Actress CARMEN ELECTRA is furious she hasn’t been asked to star in the forthcoming BAYWATCH movie.
The 34-year-old actress found fame starring as lifeguard LANI McKENZIE on the US drama series between 1997 and 1998, but - despite appearing in 2003’s reunion BAYWATCH: HAWAIIAN WEDDING - Electra hasn’t been invited to join the new feature-length film.
She says, "I’m out. I’ve only heard about it through the press and nobody has contacted me to be in the film. I really enjoyed the reunion show we did though - it was fun to meet all the team again."
