BROADBENT SNUBBED OBE
Oscar winner JIM BROADBENT turned down the Order Of The British Empire (OBE) honour because he isn’t proud of his country’s conquering past.
The BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY star, 57, was offered an OBE in 2002 after winning an Academy Award for IRIS, but declined to accept the award.
He explains, "I don’t think the British Empire if something that I particularly want to celebrate."
