McAVOY: ‘SCOTTY NEEDS MORE DEPTH’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:29 pm

LATEST: JAMES McAVOY has reservations about accepting the role of SCOTTY in a forthcoming STAR TREK movie - because he doesn’t want to become typecast.
THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND star fuelled speculation last month (FEB07) he would appear in the latest installment of the sci-fi franchise - a prequel to the 1960s TV series written by LOST creator J.J. ABRAMS.
But McAVOY believes the role would need greater depth before he would consider taking the part - and wouldn’t want it to just focus on his Scottish heritage.
He says, "I love Star Trek but Scotty was just shown as a Scotsman, and nothing else."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:26 pm

Actress SIENNA MILLER has sparked controversy yet again by revealing she takes drugs because "they’re fun".
Last year (06) the outspoken 25-year-old upset Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania residents after drunkenly calling their city "S**tsburgh" during an interview but her candid drugs comments look likely to cause an even bigger furore around the globe.

CELEBRITIES GIVE THEIR BLESSING TO HURLEY/NAYAR NUPTIALS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:26 pm

LATEST: A string of celebrities descended on the tiny Gloucestershire, England, village of Winchcombe to celebrate ELIZABETH HURLEY’s wedding to ARUN NAYAR yesterday (03MAR07).
The couple were secretly married at Sudeley castle on Friday (02MAR07), with just a few family members and close friends for witnesses, but guests including SIR ELTON JOHN, DONATELLA VERSACE and supermodel ELLE MACPHERSON were present on Saturday for a blessing and lavish marquee reception.
Singer John made the biggest entrance, arriving by helicopter at the castle.
However, Hurley’s ex HUGH GRANT was markedly absent in spite of reports he’d show up following his recent split from JEMIMA KHAN.
In all, around ninety guests crowded into St Mary’s Church, on the grounds of the sprawling estate, while the rest observed the romantic service via a big screen in the nearby marquee.
After the ceremony guests were treated to a four-course meal and bottles of vintage champagne.
Hurley and Nayar will continue their celebrations in India later this week (09MAR07) with a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a ten-day honeymoon in the Seychelles.

FAITHFULL GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORT FROM EX BOYFRIEND JAGGER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:23 pm

Singer and actress MARIANNE FAITHFULL is grateful her recent breast cancer battle brought her back into contact with former flame SIR MICK JAGGER.
The British star was forced to postpone her world tour when she was diagnosed with the disease last September (06) - but was given the all-clear from doctors at the end of 2006.
And despite being relieved the ordeal is over, she is pleased her life-threatening condition reconnected her with her ROLLING STONE ex, who telephoned his support straight after she had undergone surgery.
Faithfull says, "All the time I was thinking, this is so kind. He hadn’t called me for 35 years and here he was on the phone, making sure I was OK.
"I didn’t expect him to contact me and I was extremely touched that he’d made the effort to call. He’s a good man.
"He loves me and I love him. The fact that our relationship ended in 1970 doesn’t matter. If you love someone, you love each other forever - it never stops.
"I found out later that Mick had phoned around agents and all my friends to get my number in the clinic. He went to a lot of trouble. That’s a classy guy."

JAPANESE POP STAR SPLITS FROM HUSBAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:23 pm

Japanese singer HIKARU UTADA has filed for divorce from her photographer husband, blaming differing outlooks and their hectic work schedules for the split.
The pop star, 24, has been married to KAZUAKI KIRIYA, 38, for four years, but filed for an end to the marriage in court on Friday (02MAR07).
Writing on her website, Utada explained, "We have both experienced change and gradually developed differences in our future visions and in what we are looking for as a couple.
"Another main reason was that we could not communicate well as we both work internationally." Utada made her chart debut in Japan at the tender age of 15 and has since produced English records.
