FLYING DICKINSON SHOCKS SOCCER HEROES
IRON MAIDEN frontman and part-time pilot BRUCE DICKINSON stunned Scottish soccer team GLASGOW RANGERS when they discovered he was flying them to a match in Israel.
Soccer fan Dickinson volunteered for the flight when he discovered the airline he works for, Astraeus, had been called upon to take Rangers to a UEFA cup match in Tel Aviv this month.
And he quickly discovered Rangers manager WALTER SMITH is an Iron Maiden fan.
A spokesperson for Astraeus says, "When Bruce heard we had the Rangers charter, he was very keen to do the flight. He’s a big fan of football ." Smith adds, "I would never have thought Bruce would be flying our plane.
"I know his band’s stuff quite well. I remember going to meet them when they played Edinburgh a few years ago."
