MIRREN: ‘I WANT TO PLAY ROYAL CAMILLA’
DAME HELEN MIRREN would love to play British royal CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL in a new biopic.
Fresh from her Best Actress Academy Award win as QUEEN ELIZABETH II in THE QUEEN on Sunday (25FEB07) night, Mirren is keen to star as PRINCE CHARLES’ wife.
And she admires how Camilla ignored the UK media backlash against her before she wed the heir to the throne in April 2005.
Mirren says, "I am fascinated by the notion of playing Camilla.
"It made me ashamed for my country that people could be so venal and nasty."
