O’TOOLE THRILLED WITH NEW HIP
Oscar nominee PETER O’TOOLE is thrilled with his new "tin hip" but still feels embarrassed when recalling the Christmas (06) accident that almost cost him a date to the Academy Awards.
The movie veteran admits he felt like "skipping" on the red carpet at the Oscars yesterday (25FEB07) after getting a new lease of life with his hip replacement.
But he’d rather not think about why his new hip was necessary.
He says, "I hopped out of bed like a spring chicken on Boxing Day, tripped over a pair of shoes and broke my thigh.
"I had to have a nice new tin hip; it’s much better than the other one, it works very well."
