A prankster handcuffed herself to HUGH GRANT at the Dutch premiere of his new movie MUSIC & LYRICS last night (23FEB07). The actor was left stunned when CIELKE SIJBEN, a journalist working for Dutch TV network 101 TV, leaped forward as he walked the red carpet at the Amsterdam Pathe and clamped a metal handcuff on his wrist, attaching herself to him. The confused star had to stand for 10 minutes while police detained Sijben and fire fighters were summoned to free him from his captor. After the cuffs were cut off, the calm 46-year-old returned to his red-carpet duties, promoting the film - in which he stars alongside DREW BARRYMORE - while Sijben was arrested by police. An onlooker says, "It was incredible. She appeared from nowhere and Grant couldn’t believe it was happening. But he was the ultimate professional. He just stood in silence and waited for the fire fighters to free him.

DREW BARRYMORE and HUGH GRANT’s friendship stretches back further than their recent movie collaboration - the actress wrote to Grant after he was caught with prostitute DIVINE BROWN in 1995.
Barrymore and Oscar-winning director FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA were the only Hollywood stars to reach out to Grant in the aftermath of the incident, which threatened to derail his acting career.
The actress says, "I’m so not a Hollywood Bob, but I thought he was so charming with the gracious, humorous way he handled the whole thing, having been through some public scrutiny myself.

Jolie insists she was happy as a single mother - but has only really appreciated the joys of family life since she has had the actor to share them with.
The 31-year-old says, "Before I met Brad, there were many times I’d be up exhausted with my son MADDOX in the middle of the night and there was nobody there who appreciated my efforts. When he said his first word, there was nobody that I could look at and explode in excitement with. It made me very close to Mad, but now there’s the joy of waking up and sharing the burden.

The pair’s collaboration on 1998 movie OUT OF SIGHT propelled them both to Tinseltown superstardom - and they have since worked together on six movies.
But Soderberg insists things could have been so different.

British actress BILLIE PIPER had to pulled out of a performance of her new London play TREATS last night (23FEB07) after being struck down by a mystery illness.
The former DOCTOR WHO star, 24, was reportedly rushed to hospital just minutes before the curtain went up at the West End’s Garrick Theatre.
The audience was then informed that an understudy would be stepping in to perform Piper’s role.
One theatre-goer said, "It was a complete shock. We didn’t even have time to take it in before she show started." In Treats, Piper stars opposite her real life boyfriend LAURENCE FOX. The play focuses on a love triangle and is set in 1970s London.

Six British people were tricked into thinking they had witnessed the murder of actress BRIGITTE NIELSEN, for a new reality TV show.
Producers of Sky show KILLING BRIGITTE NIELSEN made the participants believe the Danish star had been killed on board a Greek yacht, before arresting them, throwing them into jail and then freeing them in a staged jailbreak.
Producer ALKI DAVID said, "We never made anybody feel they were in personal danger. We gave them £1,500 ($2,900) each and three days holiday in Greece afterwards.
"It is based on managing someone’s entire reality like THE TRUMAN SHOW movie." The unwitting group all answered an advertisement to take part in a sailing documentary for the Greek Tourist Board.

Actress MIA FARROW has urged the United Nations to send peacekeeping troops to the troubled Darfur region of Sudan.
Farrow is speaking out at the end of a two week tour of refugee camps in the wartorn area.
She insists the UN is reacting too slowly and should rush peacekeepers there immediately.
The UN has held back because traditionally it only deploys troops with the permission of the host government - and Sudan has rejected offers of assistance.
But Farrow says, "It is past time for the peacekeeping force to be deployed.
What are they waiting for? "In the face of such suffering, our moral mandate toward these people eclipses national sovereignty." More than 200,000 people have been killed in Darfur since 2003 and hundreds of thousands of refugees have been forced to flee the country by militia.

KEANE almost quit when frontman TOM CHAPLIN went into rehab for drug and alcohol abuse last year (06), his bandmate TIM RICE-OXLEY reveals.
But pianist Rice-Oxley insists the struggle has made the group appreciate their talents and potential - and helped them come back stronger.

Scottish rock group THE VIEW have been forced to cancel their North American tour because frontman KYLE FALCONER faces drugs charges.
The WASTED LITTLE DJS hitmaker and bandmates STEVE MORRISON, KEIREN WEBSTER and PETE REILLY were due to play their first gig in New York on Saturday 3 March (07) before performing in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto.
The three-week tour was set to coincide with the American release of their debut album HATS OFF TO THE BUSKERS.
But Falconer, 19, was reportedly turned down for an American visa after his arrest for possessing cocaine in August 2006. US law states an individual must declare any arrests when applying for a visa.
Falconer is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court in his home city on Friday (2MAR07) in relation to the charges.

Photographs of the members of British rockers BABYSHAMBLES playing with a shotgun have been published in a British newspaper.
The pictures show guitarist MICK WHITNALL and an unknown man waving the weapon around on the PETE DOHERTY-fronted band’s tour bus.
The gun is reportedly real and was bought by Doherty - model KATE MOSS’ boyfriend - for £400 ($780) on the blackmarket, to be used for protection.
A source close to the band says, "They are not toys - they are serious weapons and after a mad night the band start to forget that.
"It completely kicks off on that bus after a gig. They are wired from the performance, then they all get right on the booze.
"The gun gets put away when Kate is around but as soon as she’s gone, it is out again. They are always boasting about it.
"It’s become a bit of a trophy for them now - something flash they can scare people with.
"It will only be a matter of time before someone snaps and it all goes very badly wrong."

MELANIE CHISHOLM is scuppering plans for a SPICE GIRLS reunion because she thinks her solo career is more important, according to the girl band’s creator SIMON FULLER.
Fuller, who founded the five-piece in 1994, claims VICTORIA BECKHAM, GERI HALLIWELL, MEL B and EMMA BUNTON are keen to reunite - but Mel C is refusing.
He says, "Mel C thinks her solo career is bigger than the band, which is just not the case.
"She needs to wise up and realise a reunion would be amazing for everybody concerned." But Fuller believes if the group do return, it will be short lived.
He adds, "The Spice Girls will come back with a big bang. They'’ll do a whirlwind tour for six months and they’ll be gone again."

The boyfriend of SUGABABES singer AMELLE BERRABAH has been questioned by police over the alleged rape of her younger sister.
SAMIYA BERRABAH, 20, was allegedly attacked in a home on a travellers’ site in Surrey, South East England, in January. Amelle’s traveller lover FREDDIE FULLER, 24, and three friends, including Samiyah’s ex-boyfriend JOHN CARNY, 22, have all been quizzed by police.
The incident is said to have taken place after Samiya had been out with friends on 27 January (07). She alleges she was given a drink laced with a date-rape drug which left her unable to speak or control her body. She then claims she was subjected to a horrific sexual assault.
Pop star Amelle has reportedly dumped Fuller in light of her sister’s allegations. Fuller was arrested on 4 February, along with Carny, MARK MARNEY, 28 and LEE WINDYBROOK, 20.
A spokesman for Surrey Police says, "The men were arrested on suspicion of serious sexual assaults. Inquiries are continuing."

KEVIN FEDERLINE has visited his estranged wife BRITNEY SPEARS in rehab.
The rapper, who reportedly took part in an intervention to persuade the troubled superstar to seek help for unspecified problems, paid the pop star a visit at the Promises treatment centre in Malibu, California.
Federline is reportedly looking after the couple’s two sons, while his estranged wife is seeking help.
A source close to the couple tells People magazine, "He cares a lot about her." The insider claims Federline spent 90 minutes at Promises.
