SOCCER STAR JOINS SAS FOR MOVIE ROLE
Former England soccer star PAUL GASCOIGNE has enlisted the help of the SAS to help him get in shape for his role in a new movie.
Gascoigne will star alongside British actor RAY WINSTONE’s daughter LOIS in science-fiction film FINAL RUN, and hopes to follow in the footsteps of soccer player-turned-Hollywood star VINNIE JONES.
Speaking to British radio station TalkSport, he says, "The first thing I’ll be doing is practising with the SAS. Practising holding a machine gun and doing some undercover work, stuff like that. It’s quite exciting.
"It’s something different, it’s an opportunity for me. I’m always changing things. It didn’t do Vinnie Jones any harm! This could be an opportunity for other things. Hopefully this will do really, really well. We’re looking forward to it doing well." The film is slated for a 2008 release.
