ROLLINS SETS UP LABEL INSPIRED BY LATE WIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:04 pm

Jazz veteran SONNY ROLLINS was inspired to establish his own record label after the death of his wife three years ago.
The 76-year-old saxophonist was forced to take over the administrative side of his career after his spouse LUCILLE died in 2004, as she dealt with any contractual business the star was faced with.
And Rollins has found the new responsibility of setting up his Doxy label "a real leap".
He says, "My wife, Lucille, used to run all the business side of things, and since she passed on a couple of years ago, and my contract with my label was about to expire, I realised I had to make the leap."
