Bollywood star SAIF ALI KHAN has been admitted to hospital in India after complaining of chest pains.
The 36-year-old actor was forced to cancel an appearance at an awards ceremony on Sunday night (18FEB07), where he was to be honoured for his performance in new film OMKARA, but it was caught short after he was taken to Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai after falling ill.
N. TRIVED, vice president of Leelavati Hospital, says, "Saif is stable now and everything is normal," adding the actor would being stay in hospital for two days while further observations were carried out.

Acting comeback Queen VIRGINIA MADSEN has based her career resurgence on a quirky positive thinking game - the Law of Cupcakes.
The actress’ career was floundering until her critically acclaimed performance in 2004’s SIDEWAYS, and is now starring in JIM CARREY film THE NUMBER 23 - and she owes it all to cupcakes.
She explains, "I did this thing called the law of cupcakes. I decided I would only think of cupcakes and then I wrote the word ‘cupcake’.
"Lo and behold, they began to appear everywhere. I got out of a cab and there was a grand opening of a cupcake place. I turned on CNN and there was a story about how cupcakes are now all the rage.
"I got a present from my agent when I started this film, a basket of cupcakes.
"And then, best of all, the first day on set there was actually a crew guy walking round wearing a T-shirt with a cupcake on it."

THE SOPRANOS star JAMES GANDOLFINI braved the cold yesterday (18FEB07) to wow revellers at this year’s Mardi Gras - wearing a bizarre costume.
The tough guy actor wore a black derby hat, a white tunic over white tights and black knee-high boots - while he threw coins to spectators at the famed New Orleans festival.

British rockers BLOC PARTY were forced to stop a gig last night (18FEB07) when an audience member threw a coin at frontman KELE OKEREKE.
The band’s performance in Aberdeen, Scotland, was interrupted when the metal missile was thrown during POSTIVE TENSION, their set’s second song.
Bloc Party returned to the stage shortly after the incident but looked shaken after the interuption.
Posting on a local music forum, a fan writes, "It was a pretty good gig in the end, but aside from a couple of songs they didn’t look they were having fun and the coin-throwing incident made the rest of the gig feel a bit awkward." A spokesperson for the group says Okereke was not seriously injured.

British band THE JAM have announced plans to reunite for their first UK tour in 25 years - but without the group’s former singer PAUL WELLER.
Bassist BRUCE FOXTON and drummer RICK BUCKLEY will embark on a series of performances under the band’s original moniker in May (07), with vocalist RUSSELL HASTINGS and guitarist/keyboardist DAVID MOORE.
Buckley insists The Jam can succeed without Weller, but invited the star to perform with his bandmates if the opportunity arose.
He says, "Paul Weller has a fantastic solo career and is one of the UK’s most talented songwriters. Paul is always welcome to join us for the reunions, but until then, we’ve got a new tour and a new album to do." The group’s 20-date UK tour will mark 30 years since the release of seminal album IN THE CITY in 1977.

The TV presenter, daughter of Sharon Osbourne and rocker Ozzy Osbourne, made the revelation at an AIDS charity benefit at London’s Koko club.
She said: ‘This charity is really important to me because one of my family is HIV positive. And I am so, so proud of him.’ An onlooker said: ‘Kelly seemed really upset and could hardly speak through her tears. Kelly and mum Sharon have been involved with a number of HIV charities, however, this is the first time a personal link has been revealed.

The British actress-and-model, who is marrying Arun next month, has reportedly asked chefs at Gloucestershire’s Sudeley Castle to prepare a meal inspired by cuisine served to King Henry VIII’s sixth wife, Katherine Parr, when she lived there.
Guests will be treated to roasted guinea fowl with sage and champagne jus, followed by summer fruit brulée or pears poached in wine for desert all washed down with Verve Cliquot Champagne.
A source said: ‘It’s a very medieval menu, in keeping with the castle. Liz wants the food to match the history of the venue so there will be nothing modern on the menu.’ Katherine, whose tomb is located in the castle church, regularly dined on deer that roamed wild on the estate.
Liz, 41, and Indian businessman Arun’s extended wedding celebrations start with an English ceremony at Sudeley Castle, followed by a traditional Indian wedding in Mumbai, which will feature an Indian banquet.
Celebrities expected to attend the nuptials include Liz’s close friend Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, fashion designer Donatella Versace and Victoria Beckham.

‘She is taking it one day at a time, as she is in it for the long haul. She asks that her privacy be respected.’ Lindsay checked into Wonderland on January 18 to be treated for alcoholism, following an all-night drinking binge at the Golden Globes (15.01.07).
During her stay, she was allowed to continue shooting her latest film ‘I Know Who Killed Me’, returning to the centre at night.
Concern about Lindsay’s wild partying came to a head last summer, when Morgan Creek Productions CEO James G. Robinson reprimanded her unprofessional behaviour on the set of ‘Georgia Rule’.
In a letter, the producer blamed Lindsay’s ’so-called exhaustion’ on her ‘ongoing all night heavy partying’ after she collapsed on set.
Reports about Lindsay’s erratic behaviour continued to surface and in December, Lindsay’s publicist confirmed the actress was attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings, saying ‘it’s a positive thing’.

Homeless man David Cook claims the band gave him £1,000 to buy drugs for them last May.
Cook said: ‘A member of the crew gave me money to buy heroin and cocaine.
Pete shook my hand and thanked me for what I was doing. I was invited to join them backstage. There were lots of people there, most of whom were doing drugs.
‘Pete refused to go on stage until the drugs were finished. He had to be dragged out.’ The 27-year-old rocker was recorded on a friend’s mobile phone snorting what is thought to be a mixture of cocaine and horse tranquiliser ketamine, according to Britain’s The People newspaper.
In the footage, which was taken in January, one friend says: ‘You’re doing them too big, Pete. It’s dangerous - you need to calm down a bit, man.’ Shocking photographs were released last month showing Pete apparently injecting himself with cocaine during his Thai holiday with Kate.

Liotta, 52, crashed his car into two parked vehicles shortly after 8pm.
Nobody was injured but the ‘Goodfellas’ actor - who was alone - was arrested by Los Angeles Police. He was released on bail after posting $15,000.
Los Angeles Police spokesman Mike Lopez confirmed that Liotta was booked on a misdemeanour DUI charge and is due to appear in court next month.
A hearing has initially been scheduled for March 19 - two weeks after Liotta ’s new film ‘Wild Hogs’ is released.
Liotta stars alongside John Travolta and Tim Allen in the road-trip comedy.
