Daniel Radcliffe wants his character Harry Potter to die.
The 18-year-old actor, who has played the boy wizard since JK Rowling’s books were first adapted for the big screen in 2001, admits he would love to act out dramatic death scenes.
He told Britain’s Daily Record newspaper: ‘I sort of hope I’ll die in it. I think that’s the only way Jo can end it and I also have a melodramatic yearning to do a death scene.’ Daniel also wonders if Harry can go on existing if he was to kill the evil Lord Voldemort.
He said: ‘Maybe one can only die if the other does.’ JK Rowling’s last book in the series, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, is set for release on July 21.
The prolific author has revealed some of the main characters will die in the final instalment.
Daniel is starring in a West End production of Peter Schaffer’s play ‘Equus’, about a stable hand who has an erotic fixation with horses.
