GREER REPLACED BY IRWIN
Feminist writer GERMAINE GREER’s photograph has been removed from the National Portrait Gallery in Australia and replaced with a picture of STEVE IRWIN following her critical comments of the late CROCODILE HUNTER.
Greer criticised Irwin following his death last year (06) from a stingray attack, branding him a danger to the animals he tried to save.
And now the art gallery in his homeland appears to have responded with their own revenge - by taking down the raunchy nude portrait of Greer, 68, in favour of a more tasteful image of the fearless Irwin.
However, the National Portrait Gallery denies this is the case, insisting they are only reacting to increased public demand for a picture of the animal lover.
A spokeswoman says, "It was totally coincidental. (They were) changed because of light levels - it was time for one to come down and another to go up. It just happened to be co-incidental that this one replaced the other."
