BARRYMORE SHOCKED BY GRUMPY GRANT
DREW BARRYMORE was shocked when she first met HUGH GRANT, because she thought he would be just like the foppish romantic leading men he plays on screen.
The pair star together in new film MUSIC AND LYRICS, and met for the first time on set.
She explains Grant was, "So not what I expected. In our first day of rehearsal, I was like ‘This is going to be so awesome! We’re going to have the best time!’ "And he was like (in a stern voice), ‘They warned me about you.’ "He is like a complete cynic and dark. We think of him as this romantic leading man, but he’s a comedian and comedians are a little self-tortured and dark.
"My trailer was full of dogs and candles and music and we’re making fabrics and doing this whole PROJECT RUNWAY (a US fashion reality show) thing. "You’d go into his trailer and he’d just be sitting there on the couch, chopping salad alone, angry English man. "We are total opposites, but I think it works for the movie, you get like two different people."
