THE FLAMING LIPS star WAYNE COYNE was so overcome with emotion after learning of his group’s two Grammy Award wins on Sunday (11FEB07) he threw up.
Coyne and his bandmates were unable to attend the Grammys due to work commitments, but they picked up their second and third honours for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (AT WAR WITH THE MYSTICS) and Best Rock Instrumental Performance (THE WIZARD TURNS ON…).
And the singer was so thrilled, he couldn’t keep his feelings inside.
He explains, "My stomach had been churning from eating too many Twizzlers and flying all day, and, upon winning, the excitement caused such a blast of chemical endorphins to rush through my system that I was immediately cured of my bad gut.
"Let it be said that winning two Grammys in one night is kind of like psychic Pepto-Bismol."

An assistant at JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’s record company has been busted for selling $20,000 (£10,000) worth of the star’s stolen CDs on auction website eBay.
An executive assistant at Jive Records was selling the highly anticipated FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS CD before its release date by having interns at Jive send the discs from the company’s mailroom.
A source tells the New York Daily News, "He was selling pre-release Justin Timberlake albums for $50 (£26) a pop. And he was using the Jive mailroom to send them out." The employee’s lucrative side-business was stopped after disgruntled interns objected to participating in the mass mailings and reported him to the company president.
The source adds, "They sent an e-mail to Jive president BARRY WEISS from an anonymous e-mail account (with the email screen name InternsArePeopleToo), and copied every vice president to tell them they were ‘fired up’." The assistant has now been sacked.

Radio shock jock HOWARD STERN made St Valentine’s Day (14FEB07) extra special for his longtime girlfriend BETH OSTROSKY - by proposing to her.
The 53-year-old host told listeners of his Sirius Radio show that he had asked the model to marry him.
Stern recalled last night’s (13FEB07) proposal on today’s show, explaining he asked the 34-year-old model if she wanted her Valentine’s Day gift early and she said yes.
He told listeners he ordered her to strip down, and, once naked, he presented her with a 5.2 carat diamond ring saying, "I love you. You’re everything to me.
This is so gay… I’m asking you to spend the rest of your life with me." Stern insists the engagement is not a joke. Last month (JAN07), he announced on air that the couple had tied the knot, but later revealed it was a prank.
This will be the first marriage for Ostrosky and the second for Stern, who split from wife ALISON in 2000.

EMINEM’s ex-wife KIM MATHERS attempted to commit suicide after watching her husband’s fans laugh as he beat a blow-up doll made up to look like her at a concert.
Mathers was attending one of the rap superstar’s early shows when he dedicated a vicious rap song to her and then attacked her doll likeness before hurling it into the audience.
His devastated wife, who has been attacked in many Eminem songs, watched as rabid fans destroyed the doll.
Speaking on an upcoming DR KEITH ABLOW SHOW in America, she recalls, "He was singing a song that was about me and he had a blow-up doll up on stage that looked like me.
"He was physically beating it and kicking it around and threw it out into the crowd.
"Just seeing the crowd’s response and everybody cheering, singing the words and laughing and it just felt like everyone was staring at me.
"I knew that it was about me and that night I went home and I tried to commit suicide."

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has been in talks with local police today (14FEB07), reportedly over safety fears.
The animal rights campaigner has raised concerns in the past after receiving death threats following news of her split from the former BEATLE last year (06).
In December (06), Mills’ spokesperson revealed violent criminals in McCartney’s native Liverpool, England were planning to punish her for claiming in legal papers the singer physically abused her.
And today Mills met with officers in Hove, south England, to talk about her concerns.
A spokeswoman for Sussex police says, "It was a pre-planned meeting. (It) did not relate to anything specific and she was not arrested." McCartney and Mills split up in May (06) after four years of marriage and began divorce proceedings in July (06).

Rising British actor PADDY CONSIDINE has hit back at suggestions he has sold out after starring in upcoming Hollywood sequel THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM.
The DEAD MAN’S SHOES actor only worked alongside MATT DAMON on the blockbuster movie because he knew director PAUL GREENGRASS would take a low key approach to filming.
He explains, "I’m not going to go to Hollywood and do any kind of rubbish. I did the new Bourne film because it is being made by Paul Greengrass and I knew he wouldn’t make it a big Hollywood experience.
"It was all shot like a fly on the wall so it felt very much like you were in an independent movie."

SHARON STONE has no regrets about filming her controversial crotch-flashing scene in BASIC INSTINCT, and credits it with establishing her Hollywood presence and allowing her to carry out humanitarian work.

DAME HELEN MIRREN was mistaken for royalty while filming THE QUEEN, but found being treated with the utmost respect at all times extremely daunting.
The actors and crew on set had difficulty separating the actress from her regal role as British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II, and avoided eye contact and refused to take compliments from the star.

Hollywood star DANNY GLOVER is bemused by his new-found sex symbol status because as a youngster he was bullied over his looks.
Despite branding himself "the most inconspicuous boy at school", the 60-year-old was recently hailed the fifth sexiest veteran male film star by users of an internet film fan site.
In the poll, the LETHAL WEAPON star came behind JACK NICHOLSON, 69; SIR SEAN CONNERY, 76; ROBERT REDFORD, 70; and CLINT EASTWOOD, 76.
But modest Glover can’t understand his appeal.
He says, "I should be about 150th on the list! These guys have been sex symbols all my life - I can’t believe I’m up there with them.
"My daughter would love to hear this because she’s so beautiful and always thought her looks were just from her mom.
"It’s weird though. I don’t know what it is. At school I never had girlfriends. I was so shy and people called me names. I was probably the most inconspicuous and forgettable boy there." Despite his low self-esteem, Glover found love with ASAKE BOMANI, who he married in 1975.
He says of their romance, "She’s was the most amazing woman - still is. She saw something special in me, something so good I didn’t even know it was there."

NATALIE PORTMAN and GAEL GARCIA BERNAL have sparked reports they have rekindled their romance after they were photographed leaving a German nightclub together.
The STAR WARS beauty and the Mexican actor, who is a member of the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival, parted ways in 2004 after dating for a year.

Late rocker ELLIOTT SMITH is to thrill fans from beyond the grave when a two-disc collection of unreleased songs is released later this year (07).
NEW MOON gathers 24 tracks recorded by the star between 1995 and 1997 and is due for release in May (07).
Among the tracks is an early version of Smith’s song MISS MISERY, his Oscar nominated song from the GOOD WILL HUNTING soundtrack.
A percentage of New Moon’s proceeds will be donated to Portland, Oregon social services agency Outside In, which aids homeless youths.

English folk singer SETH LAKEMAN walked away with two of the biggest prizes at last week’s (ends09FEB07) BBC Radio Two Folk Awards, clinching both Singer and Album Of The Year.
The 29-year-old was lauded for his efforts on FREEDOM FIELDS, which was released last year (06).

Rockers METALLICA have stunned fans by signing up for a ENNIO MORRICONE tribute project.
The group have used the composer’s THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY track THE ECSTASY OF GOLD to open their stage shows since 1983, and now the US band will repay the musical favour with a cover version of the song for a tribute album due out later this year (07).
The Metallica cover features on WE ALL LOVE ENNIO MORRICONE, alongside offerings from an assorted array of other celebrity Morricone fans including opera star ANDREA BOCELLI, YO-YO MA, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and CELINE DION.
Frontman JAMES HETFIELD says, "I’ve been inspired by Morricone’s raw unbridled emotion, especially in his western scores." Morricone has written music for more than 400 film and television shows.

Troubled Norwegian metal star GAAHL has inspired a new documentary about his turbulent life.
The GORGOROTH frontman was only released from prison in December (06) after serving time for assault and threatening to drink his own blood. His band has also attracted controversy in 2004 for featuring crucified naked models, animal blood and pig heads in stage shows.
Now acclaimed photographer PETER BESTE wants to document the man behind the scandal in a short movie, and maintains the footage and interviews he’s already shot are guaranteed to provide some shocks.
He says, "The film is exploring the various sides of Gaahl. Is he a misunderstood genius or is he the monster that the media portrays him as? The answers we present may not be so black and white. People will be surprised.
"He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. He’s smart, funny, strong, insightful, and also has a darker side, as you can imagine.

Ben - who has a one-year-old daughter Violet with his wife Jennifer Garner - said: ‘The whole week that I shot, I smoked, like, five packs a day. By the time the movie was over, I was so sick of smoking, I just didn’t want to do it anymore, and I quit. But it’s pretty cool that I have this celluloid record of the last time I smoked.’
