BRAGG’S GOOD BEACH DEED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:19 am

English folk musician BILLY BRAGG spent three days combing a beach on his knees after becoming an eco-warrior.
The singer took part in the tidy-up project at Chesil beach, Dorset when a container ship beached after being caught in storms in the English Channel late last month (JAN07).
Around 100 containers were lost overboard when the vessel was deliberately stranded near the sands to prevent it sinking in deeper water offshore.
Bragg says, "I was one of a few local people who volunteered to help - there must have been about 15 of us on the first day.
"I woke up to find the beach covered in oiled confectionery, chocolate biscuits, Ferrero Rocher and heart-shaped packets of sweets, possibly Russian, that came in on the high tide.
