Cohen broke the news to the TOXIC singer during a long-distance phone call on Sunday evening (04FEB07) while she was in New York City and he was in Los Angeles.

Friends say Cohen, 25, has been "looking to get out of the relationship for a while," adding, "It was a bit much for him. There was a lot of drama - it was too much of a whirlwind." JANE FONDA and fellow 60-something star SALLY FIELD have made a promise to each other they will not have any more plastic surgery.
Fonda, 69, is determined to grow old gracefully, instead of fighting the aging process, and recently started a radio network for women to help empower them.
She explains, "I realised that I’m going to be 70 in a year, and I have chosen not to have any more plastic surgery.
"Sally Field and I have kind of made a pact about that. We need women friends, women who challenge us." Fonda says she wants to be a role model for older women, adding, "It’s really hard, especially if you’re a public person. But I want to give a face to aging."

JIM CARREY got into the dark mindset of his latest movie character by listening to the thumping sounds of NINE INCH NAILS and German industrial rockers EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN.
The actor asked THE NUMBER 23 director JOEL SCHUMACHER to help him come up with an iPod tracklist that would help him get into the tormented mind of his obsessed and insane character WALTER SPARROW for dark scenes in the film.
So Schumacher commissioned a hardcore goth-rock expert to create a selection of tracks which Carrey could pump through his headphones in between takes.
According to production notes, these tracks included Nine Inch Nails’ MR SELF DESTRUCT, VANADIUM I CHING by Einsturzende Neubauten, SKINNY PUPPY’s ADDICTION and SLIPKNOT’s WAIT & BLEED.
A set source says, "Jim often uses music to help him get into character and this pounding industrial rock really helped him create a dark and manic character."

Wisecracking AMERICAN PIE funnyman SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT has been left devastated following the death of his father.
WILLIAM SCOTT lost his battle with cancer late last month (JAN07) and his actor son wasn’t able to make it to his father’s side before he passed, according to friends.
One tells US tabloid the National Enquirer, "Seann is kicking himself over not being there to say goodbye to his dad, but it all happened so quickly." The DUKES OF HAZZARD star does have one happy memory to be proud of - he bought his father a lakefront home in Wisconsin after the 66-year-old was diagnosed with bone cancer last year (06) and visited him whenever he wasn’t working.

LATEST: GRIFFIN O’NEAL and his pregnant girlfriend JOANNA BERRY have hired top attorney GLORIA ALLRED and may testify in a criminal case against Griffin’s father RYAN O’NEAL.
The elder O’Neal was arrested on Saturday night (03FEB07) and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after a fight with his 42-year-old son.
Lawyer Allred announced at a news conference today (07FEB07) she was representing the couple and she took the opportunity to slam claims by Ryan O’Neal that he was acting in self defence when he fired off a shot during the family row.
According to Allred, Berry suffered abrasions, blunt head trauma, facial lacerations and a fractured bone during the scuffle at Ryan O’Neal’s Malibu home.
Griffin O’Neal and Berry were present at the news conference, but did not speak.
Allred said her clients may be called to testify in a criminal case, but there was no word on whether charges would be filed against Ryan O’Neal for allegedly firing a gun during the incident.

MISCHA BARTON has ended her relationship with musician CISCO ADLER after nude photos of him appeared on the Internet.
THE OC star was reportedly shocked when pictures of her boyfriend turned up among PARIS HILTON’s possessions when the contents of her storage locker were posted online at ParisExposed.com.
According to American publication Us Weekly, the pair parted was soon after the nude shots of Adler, 28, surfaced on the website.

LATEST: Actor DANIEL BALDWIN has been found on a film set in Detroit, Michigan after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest yesterday (06FEB07).
Baldwin, 46, failed to appear in an Orange County California Superior Court on charges he stole a car last November (06).
According to the Detroit Free Press, the star was spotted on the set of his new movie LITTLE RED DEVIL, where he is reportedly playing the title character.
Yesterday, Baldwin’s manager, DAN SPILO, insisted the warrant was an error, adding "the court will probably be correcting this later in the day." But according to Orange County District Attorney’s Office Spokeswoman FARRAH EMAMI, there was no error.
She says, "We have two felony charges on Mr Baldwin, and he and his attorney failed to appear." Baldwin, the brother of actors ALEC, WILLIAM and STEPHEN, faces up to three years in prison if convicted.

KEVIN COSTNER is set to become a dad again after telling friends his wife of two-and-a-half years is pregnant with their first child together.

A post-surgery shopping spree in cyberspace left singer HARRY CONNICK JR more than a little stunned because he couldn’t remember buying any of the gifts as they arrived at his home.
The smooth crooner was high on painkillers after a recent operation when he decided it was time to shop online.
The IT HAD TO BE YOU singer explains, "I had some surgery and I have to admit I understand how people become addicted to these pharmaceuticals that they prescribe after the surgery for killing pain. They’re absolutely amazing.
"I was in such a state while I was recovering from this surgery and the pain medication that I was on sort of took all the inhibitions out that I may have had. I found that I was ordering things online; big boxes of stuff would arrive at my house.
"I had a box of 100 radio controlled cars. I ordered this Chinese guitar and it was like ten bucks. They also sent me some Chinese jade jewellery along with the guitar, so I got into that. So I have the cars, the guitars, the jade jewellery, it’s a lot of crap.
"It’s difficult to store and also to explain to my wife or anyone who handles my finances, what you’re doing with all the jade. But you can’t beat it!"
