Daniel Radcliffe has shocked theatre fans by stripping off for his stage debut in ‘Equus’ - but Emma will be keeping her clothes on for her first venture outside Hogwarts.
A source said: ‘Emma has agreed in principle to star, pending final approval of the script, which is still undergoing re-writes. She thinks it will be a lot of fun and a good stepping stone away from the world of Harry Potter.’ Emma will star alongside Rupert Everett - who will take on the role of cross-dressing headmistress Millicent Fritton.
Emma is no stranger to girls’ boarding schools - she attends the single-sex Headington School in Oxford, England.

The ‘Jackass’ star exchanged vows with long-term love Missy Rothstein in front of 350 friends and family in Philadelphia on Saturday (03.02.07).
The wedding was filmed for his MTV reality show ‘Bam’s Unholy Union’ and will be screened in April.
Bam and Missy got engaged in January 2006, after the skateboarder reportedly proposed as she tried on a perfectly-fitting engagement ring.
Bam said: ‘I was like, ‘Now’s the time.’ We just sat there and drank three bottles of champagne.’ The couple have known each other since the sixth grade but lost touch while they were involved in other relationships. They began dating two years ago.
Missy said of her new husband: ‘I love his spontaneity, even though it drives me crazy sometimes. I’d be bored if he was normal like everyone else.’ The newlyweds are set to spend their honeymoon in Dubai.

Electronic musician Eno, 58, is famous for his work with Roxy Music, U2 and David Bowie, and Coldplay are thrilled to have him on board.
The band’s guitarist Johnny Buckland said: ‘We feel that he picked us really, rather than we picked him.
‘If you can persuade him to work with you then you must be doing quite well.’ Frontman Chris Martin refused to give any details away about the new project, saying: ‘It’s just too early to talk about it at the moment.’ Chris has also confirmed Coldplay will not be performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The action hero will allegedly star alongside Stiller in an updated version of the classic comedy novels ‘The Hardy Boys’, called ‘The Hardy Men’. The movie sees the eternal teenagers finally grown up, but still up to their old tricks.
Production for the film, directed by Shawn Levy, is due to begin in October.
Levy also directed Stiller’s latest box office hit ‘Night At The Museum’ as well as ‘The Pink Panther’ and ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’.
Cruise reportedly met Stiller to discuss starring in the comedian’s latest project ‘Tropic Thunder’ - mocking the ‘Mission: Impossible’ trilogy, in which Cruise starred as Ethan Hunt. However, Cruise will not be involved in this project.
The ‘Top Gun’ star is said to see comedy as a way to rebuild his career after a run of negative publicity.

The documentary ANGELINA JOLIE’s late mother MARCHELINE BERTRAND executive produced before her death last month (JAN07) is to be rush released on DVD as a tribute to the actress.
TRUDELL follows the lifestory of Native American poet and activist JOHN TRUDELL, who famously burned an American Flag on the steps of the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, while protesting the US government’s policy on American Indians in 1979.
Following the protest, Trudell’s pregnant wife and three children were killed in a suspicious arson fire on a Nevada reservation.
The activist then spent the next four years driving across America in a car given to him by his friend and fellow activist JACKSON BROWNE, honing his craft as a poet. He released a protest album with Browne in 1983.
The film, which won acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival, features interviews and tributes from VAL KILMER, ROBERT REDFORD and KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, among others.
Meanwhile, Jolie, who is also credited as an executive producer on the film, was so touched by Trudell’s story she agreed to help produce his current album, BONE DAYS.

JESSICA SIMPSON knew she had found her new home in the Hollywood Hills after she went to view it and it "hugged" her.
The 26-year-old was searching for her own place after divorcing NICK LACHEY and she admits she immediately fell in love with the vine-covered home in Coldwater Canyon, Los Angeles.
Simpson purchased the mansion from high-powered Hollywood manager RICK YORN.
It was once owned by US talk show host ELLEN DEGENERES.
The star tells American Elle magazine, "I ran into Ellen the other night, and she said it was her favourite house of all time.
"It was the second house I looked at, and I fell in love with it. I walked into it and it just hugged me." Simpson says her new home suits her much better than the large Mediterranean "McMansion" she shared with Lachey during the filming of their reality show NEWLYWEDS: NICK & JESSICA.
She adds, "This place is totally different. I’m not really a big-house fan."

Comedian ELLEN DEGENERES posed for the new cover of fashion magazine W, but refused to wear a dress during the shoot.
The 49-year-old, who is famous for always wearing trousers/pants, wouldn’t compromise her personal style when she agreed to appear on the style bible’s March (07) cover.
She explains, "I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in it (a dress)." The talk show host was shocked when she was approached to appear on the cover, adding, "I know what this magazine is… It’s a fashion magazine. For me to even be asked to be on the cover - it’s huge." Meanwhile, the star, who will host the Oscars on 25 February (07), is considering several wardrobe changes for the big ceremony because so many designers are making clothes for her.
She adds, "Everybody’s sending me stuff. Gucci sent me this amazing package with all kinds of designs and different kinds of fabrics… They’re making me something. Zac Posen sent me a gorgeous tuxedo. Vicktor & Rolf is making me something.
"I wasn’t planning on changing because it’s just different suits, but I may do it, because I’d like to thank them all for making me stuff, for wanting to do that."

EMILIO ESTEVEZ has signed on to star in director OLIVER STONE’s follow-up to 9/11 drama WORLD TRADE CENTER, according to Internet reports.
TheHollywoodNews.com claims the actor/director has become the first name attached to JAWBREAKER.
The film focuses on America’s response to the terrorist attacks with the invasion of Afghanistan and hunt for OSAMA BIN LADEN, and is based on CIA mastermind GARY BERNSTEN’s memoir about the invasion.
Bernsten co-ordinated the efforts of the CIA and Special Operations Forces to end Taliban rule in the Middle East.
Estevez was Stone’s first choice for the lead in Vietnam movie PLATOON, but brother CHARLIE SHEEN landed the role instead.

COURTENEY COX refused to hire a body double to film racy sex scenes on her new TV show DIRT because she couldn’t be happier with the way her body looks.
The former FRIENDS star plays tabloid magazine editor LUCY SPILLER on the show, and claims the character has given her confidence a boost.
She says one of the biggest lessons she learned from the show was "I’m not a little girl anymore. I’m a woman.
"I was really nervous at first about exposing myself. It was like, ‘You know what? I’m not going to get a body double. I’m going to be who I am.’ "That was a big change!"

JESSICA ALBA has been learning how to live as a blind person to prepare for her role as a sightless violinist in the new film THE EYE.
The 25-year-old has reportedly signed a $4 million (GBP2 million) deal to star in the movie, which is being made for TOM CRUISE’s production company.
She explains, "I’ve been training. I wear a sleep mask and carry a cane to get around with.
"I’ve also been practicing the violin - it’s hard! It took me three months to figure it out!" In the film, Alba will play ALLISON - a woman who received an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world.
The movie, which is a remake of cult Hong Kong film JIAN GUI, is scheduled to begin filming this month (FEB07) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH is being sued by a woman who insists the diet product the actress/model endorses is bogus.
Angry JANET LUNA claims she used TRIMSPA X32 and expected the "rapid and substantial weight loss" the product promises - but it didn’t work for her.
And yesterday (05FEB07), Luna filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging the advertising is "false or misleading." Website TMZ.com, which obtained the lawsuit against Smith and Trimspa, points out that the plaintiff is possibly a minor, as the suit was filed by her mother, MYRA LUNA.

Movie veteran PAUL NEWMAN has been forced to close his new restaurant for a week after a burst pipe flooded the place yesterday (05FEB07).
Firefighters were called to the actor’s three-month-old Westport, Connecticut restaurant, the Dressing Room, early on Monday morning and found a faulty pipe had set off sprinklers in the revamped barn building.
Co-owner and chef MICHAEL NISCHAN (corr) says, "Obviously we’re a little irritated and frustrated." Fire officials claim the pipe burst due to the cold Connecticut weather.

LATEST: The photographer fighting ANNA NICOLE SMITH for paternity of her baby daughter stands to lose $10 million (GBP5.1 million) if he continues to go public with his spat.

It features what appears to be Birkhead’s signature and initials, and a handwritten addendum that states, "If I breach this agreement then I will pay a liquidated damages sum of ten million dollars, and any money received would revert back to Anna Nicole Smith as damages from any breach."
