JUDGE SHUTS DOWN PARIS HILTON WEBSITE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:40 am

LATEST: A Los Angeles federal judge ordered the ParisExposed.com web site to be temporarily shut down last Friday (02FEB07).
The site, which launched on 23 January (07), allowed visitors to view Hilton’s financial information, personal diaries, home videos and medical records for a fee.
According to Hilton’s lawyer, HOWARD WEITZMAN, the judge ordered the temporary shut-down "because the site violated my client’s right to privacy and was a copyright infringement.
"The owner of the site, (BARDIA PERSA), has an opportunity on 16 February (07) to contest the order. He can either do it in writing or orally in court.
If he doesn’t show up, or the judge isn’t swayed, the order can turn into a permanent injunction." Persa purchased a storage bin full of Hilton’s belongings for a reported $10 million (£5.25 million) from a third party after the storage bill went unpaid and the company auctioned her possessions off for $2775 (£1,500). Persa then allegedly created the subscription-based website, which was very briefly closed down once this week (ends02FEB07) and may now be shut down for good.
