MINOGUE SPLITS WITH MARTINEZ
Pop star KYLIE MINOGUE has split from boyfriend OLIVIER MARTINEZ.
The couple, who dated for four years, insist the separation is "amicable", and will remain firm friends - but blamed press intrusion for their decision to end the relationship.
A statement issued by the pair says, "Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple.
"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The media’s false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both.
"The two remain very close friends." Martinez sparked rumours of a split with the SPINNING AROUND star in December (06) after he was spotted with Israeli model SARAI GIVATI and LOST star MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ. The TAKING LIVES actor also missed the opening night of Minogue’s Showgirl Tour last year (06), with the couple not seen together in public together since October (06). However Minogue dismissed allegations of Martinez’s "affairs" last month (JAN07), admitting her relationship with the Frenchman made her "unconditionally happy".
She said, "There are places in my life that bring me absolute unconditional happiness. One is being up there on stage performing and then I have the absolute opposite, to be in the arms of my boyfriend.
"If I can have both, I’m a happy girl."
